I have a 77 CJ5 and it came without a back seat. I have found a few on line to purchase but I cannot tell if there was a frame that had the seat belts mounted on it that the seat attaches to, or if the seat I purchase would have that attachment. Any one have an idea, or pics of their back seat to give me an idea of what I am dealing with? Thanks for the help.:)

My 1980 cj7 has a bestop rear fold down seat and the seatbelts bolt through the floor, no bar on top. Im pretty sure they have similar holes as with the front seat belts.

Thanks, I was looking at the fold down seat. I have four bolt holes in the bed for a seat and no other spots at all like the front seat belts. I guess I may have to mount them myself. The source where I got the jeep said they pulled the rear seat out and threw it away because it was ruined over time, but they believed the seat belts mounted to a metal base the seat was on. It was great that they threw it all away. I think it would be safer to mount it on the bottom anyway for safety. Did the fold down seat you buy have a frame for mounting it in your CJ or did you already have a frame to secure it to and then into your jeep?

My jeep is in the shop getting new exhaust, but I'll try to look closer and get some pics when I get it back.

I just bought a all original cj5 1978 golden eagle. the rear seat does have the seat belts mounted to a bracket that runs the length of the back of the seat (the rear of the seat attaches to this bracket also) then the bracket mounts to the floor with one large bolt in the center of the bracket and (1) smaller bolt on each end of the bracket for a total of 3 bolts on the rear bracket to floor.I just pulled out all the original seats as this jeep was a barn find and the seats were trash.

YJ back seat bolt holes
Are the bolt holes on a YJ the same as a cj? Putting a cj back seat in a YJ...
