Run down by a wrangler!

So, I'm doing a few chores in town yesterday afternoon. I pull out of a local hardware store onto the main drag, and notice a cosmos blue JK Rubi behind me. I say "Wangler" to my wife, as I always do when I see one.

Well I go a couple miles up the road and it's still behind me. I make the turn to my next planned stop, and it follows me. By now I'm thinking, "another Wrangler nut wants to trade tales." I pull in to the body shop where we're picking up my wife's truck, and the Rubi pulls in beside me. I got out and walked around to meet the driver, not knowing what is up, and he gets out of his Jeep and says, "Bill?" "Up Hill Bill?"

So, with a hardy handshake and big smiles, I met our fellow WFer, lostinnd, [Jeep Wrangler Forum - View Profile: lostinnd] who has been touring in his beautiful new 2012 Rubi. I think he said he'd driven 4500 miles touring the west from ND, so far.

He knew it had to be me when he saw me pull onto the road, 'cause, who else in Humboldt county, CA is going to have a tan all over JKU Rubi?

We had a great chat, exchanged sea stories and parted as new friends and fellow Jeep lovers, as we all are.

What a great community, and what a small world!

Nice to meet you, Gary! :wavey:

Just a coincidence. The main road through Eureka is Hwy 101 - a main North-South highway that runs the length of CA near the coast. He was driving through at the same time I happened to be in town.

But, it would be great to meet everyone. It was neat!

Lawngnome 09-13-2011 09:49 PM

Cool story, what are the chances?

ladyjane 09-13-2011 09:51 PM

Wow, that is a great story!! I love "it's a small world" stories like that!

Maybe by the time he makes it to the East Coast, I will have my Crush JKU!! (Maybe!)

JIMBOX 09-13-2011 10:33 PM

:whistling:Kinda scientific, in that---

That mating would produce a tan/blue Zebra'd TJ-and

We'd have to go back 5 years and begin the species purification-all over again !!

One step forward and two steps back--

There ain't no reason forit, it's just the way we doit !

Jeez, I guess you can take the boy out of 'Jersey, but ya' can't take the 'Jersey out of the boy! Gotta' bust balls, even with a nice, harmless story.

You seem a bit too interested of that  sort of thing. That 'slant' never crossed my radically hetero. mind. :D

jk'n 09-13-2011 11:08 PM

^^Wooooboy, I wonder if you read JIMBO's post!

Nope.... Blue Jeep with tan top, seats. That'd be a step forward, IMO.

I do need to apologize to Tom, and everyone, for over reacting to his humorous post. Tom has a great sense of humor and is a font of good info delivered succinctly, his comments are always welcome!

I was out of line, Tom, no excuses. I apologize....:flowers:........(:D)
