Today is the 15th and dealer says no 2012 brochures!

Has anybody seen the 2012 brochures at any dealers?
I saw a box around the 1st at my local dealer and in it had the 2012 Jeep brochure. Dealer said he could release around the 15th but today said none were sent.

When was the big announcement that "yea 2012 Jeeps are here" ?
The web site is a joke with some bugs and broken links.
Marketing department needs to bring this up a notch!:punk:

Why? They are selling as many as they can make. You spend money on marketing when sales are bad.

jrohan07 09-15-2011 03:32 PM

Huh? You spend money on marketing when sales are bad? July and August was Jeeps biggest sales months and seems to make sense to market your product when you have some profit margin to slide to marketing costs when sales are good to produce brochures and web design.

They're selling them faster than they can make them without any marketing. Why spend money to increase sales that you can't fulfill?

Edit: Like daggo said.....

Also the dealer may be holding back in the effort to get rid of the leftover 2011's.

"Hi MR. Car buyer, no sorry we don't have any brochures on the 2012's since they haven't released them yet, but we have great deals on the 2011's!!"

jrohan07 09-15-2011 03:43 PM

Ok fair enough.
So for those of us that actually like to collect a printed brochure of every new car/jeep/truck/motorcycle or used vehicle bought, when can we expect the 2012 Jeep brochure or answer the question "Has anybody seen the 2012 brochures at any dealers"?

Nope. I was at my dealer yesterday. You'd never know from anything there that Jeep was even thinking of putting out a 2012 Wrangler.

Go to the Naperville dealer in Illinions...
The will be like "What...Jeep is making 2012's now? Since when?"

Vince1 09-15-2011 04:25 PM

All the info and pics you need are available online. Just go to the Jeep website. Why would anyone want a bunch of useless paper these days? Don't tell me... you still get your newspaper delivered to your driveway?

Economics 101. When sales are bad, spend more money on advertising, not less. Chrysler is giving away 3 Journeys, not Wranglers.

:whistling: Brochures are an attractive, enjoyable, helpful reference that you should keep for your year/model--

There is WRITTEN data in the brochures, that is never ref'd on the internet-and you can look back years later to research an item-

Methinks they'll come out with the 2012s before Feb-2013 !!

They didn't have any 2009 brochures when I bought mine in May of 2009. they had plenty of 2008 brochures though, so I have one of those saved. Only a few minor differences between those 2 years.

JIMBOX 09-15-2011 04:46 PM

No, when sales are bad you fire the existing marketing and sales staff. Coffee is for closers.

Plus with the Internet, who needs a brochure (not that the 2012 Jeeps are officially up on the Internet either).

They make it as difficult as possible to find, but Jeep's website has the 2012's now. Just click on the Wrangler, and then when you hover over 2011 WRANGLER link - top left (just under Jeep's main logo) you get the drop-down with the 2012 option.
Or just click here: 2012 Wrangler | Trail Rated 4x4 Sports Utility Vehicle | Jeep.com

That being said, I think I would actually like to have a paper brochure anyway.

Agreed! Marketing should be done in good and bad times. If you boost marketing when things are bad, A. You might not have the cash, and B. It might be too late. With a good year round marketing campaign hopefully things don't slow down. IMO this economy is still on thin Ice, the last thing any car maker needs to do is get cocky.

When I tried to build one it came back as 2011's...

I set down with my salesman and we went through what I wanted in June. Then he placed the order first of July and we verifed options. Had it a little over 5 weeks now and the only thing I missed was the gas cap with the outside closure but will get one after market.
