Alright, so my starter went out on me the other day and I today got around to fixing it. Everything is going just fine and then I run across damn E-12 torx bolts, which, of course, I need new tools for. Granted this gives me a perfect excuse to buy new tools, but it's nothing that I would need for any other project. Why can't DC just use normal bolts for stuff?
Ok, I'm done now. :D Just had to vent a little. Starter is on and Jeeps fires up faster than it ever has before. So I'm happy.

Hey I replaced my starter a while back, no torx with mine.. but there was this one little bolt that was a PIA. Thus where was the torx on yours?

Mine has the inverted-torx as well on the starter. Don't ask me why DC wouldn't use hex heads on something as trivial as a starter

from what i've read and heard, the torx bolts were only on some of the older 4cyl engines. why? hell if i know. crazy DC logic i guess.

yeah its just on the 4 cylinder models. screws everything up. i dont know about older ones, but all the way up to 2000 for sure.

You could swap them with normal bolts once you get them out and never worry about it again!!
