Rough Country Bumper Kit Install - pics

I couldn't think of something more fun to do then take a saw to my JK this evening. Thanks to MTH for cutting up my bumper on his property. I'm gonna warn the ladies now...his hands were like a surgeons on this job. :thumb:

This was good times and a super-easy install for those who are wondering. :thumb: And I'll tell ya', there's nothing like a Makita reciprocating saw for "surgical" precision. :D

First I thought you guys were pulling my leg.....then I met Mr. Stubby!

Nice....:punk:

NHRubi 09-17-2011 08:34 PM

Looks Great!

GREEN-MACHINE 09-17-2011 08:53 PM

they make an attachment for that Makita reciprocating saw,oh 'er wrong forum.

ESP 09-18-2011 10:58 AM

Got to be careful with a saw and anything. Once you start cutting...this is why I could never be a surgeon. It's just to much fun not stopping. :firedevil:

jk'n 09-18-2011 11:07 AM

ESP, I didn't elaborate but just to give you a little chuckle, I scanned all the way down the pictures and thought....that's odd, they didn't change anything and finally zeroed in on the bumper ends....doooooh.

DrHolliday 09-18-2011 11:39 AM

I put them on my Rubi about 2 or 3 weeks ago b/c I saw MTH's thread. I love the look. I just wish the plastic texture matched the stock bumper better.

I think it looks good but if you want an even color match then your could rhino line the whole front bumper including the caps? I know some have done this. I think it looks good both ways.

Do it, I was a little hesitant too but I really like it and it was definitely worth the $60. Looks great and provide a better angle for many things.

Yep I like it more every time I look at it.

DonC72 09-19-2011 08:04 PM

Looks real nice. On my list !

tboy58 09-19-2011 08:16 PM

MTH 09-19-2011 08:31 PM

Yep, like ESP, I can't imagine going back to my stock bumper after doing this. I like the look so much better, plus I don't have to deal with the weight of an aftermarket bumper and it only costs around $60. Can't beat the bang for the buck, IMO.

sell33 09-19-2011 08:45 PM

That looks great. Kinda makes me want a stubby on my tj...

Removing the jugs was similar IMO

ESP 09-19-2011 11:13 PM

Did you get one yet Kjeeper?

strider_mt2k 09-21-2011 03:59 AM

It's certainly inexpensive, and it looks great!

I think I might be in after the newness wears off.

Not yet..

I did talk to Chris already, just have not pulled the trigger.

I am after this (stubby, loop/lights) :thumb:

I had that OCF light bar for a while on mine too. It never grew on me but I think it would have looked better on the smaller chopped bumper that I have now and bigger tires. Kinda wished I hadn't sold it.

Here's a pic of mine with it on the stock bumper.

^^ I like the way my "stock" bumper has come together now, with a chop, end caps, a light bar, and a skid plate (though you can't see the plate very well in the pics). See here and here.

That driveway looks familiar . . . .

RedBones 09-21-2011 10:35 AM

Nice that looks sweet. :thumb:

Is that the MBRP ? that looks nice and simple.

ESP 09-21-2011 12:35 PM

Yes. It's called the off camber fabrications front light bar mount by MBRP.

kjeeper10 09-21-2011 12:40 PM

I saw a complete loop w/ lights on EBay.
Not sure on the make(s) but it looked great, and was a decent price.

Edit: here's the title, don't know why It did not copy as a URL ??
