Bestop Two Piece Soft Doors

I’m looking to buy a set of Bestop Two Piece Soft Doors in black for my 03 Rubi. My problem is should I get Black Diamond or Black Denim? I rarely run my OEM soft top and will be running the Viking top this winter. I’m just not sure what the difference in color is and if it even makes a difference. From the swatches online they look nearly identical to me.

Does anyone run these? If you have black which black did you get?

I just got a set today, love them. I got the diamond I think.

Scout 09-13-2007 01:50 PM

Does it match your OEM top well?

tiny terror 09-13-2007 01:52 PM

Looks like a prefect match actually.

Scout 09-13-2007 01:57 PM

Great thanks. Now if I could just find someone with Bestop doors and a Viking top I'll be all set! :D

tiny terror 09-13-2007 02:07 PM

Take a look at your top next to and OEM top.

Scout 09-13-2007 02:22 PM

That means I would have to clean them and they're really dirty. I was hoping someone could just tell me instead of me having to put forth any effort. I'm lazy. :D

Just ordered Black Diamond.

Am I too late??? :crash:

I have the Viking top, and the denim doors...they appear to match to me. I'd have to pull out the doors at home to look again though...

Damn it! :D

I already ordered them but I'm still curious to know how they match up. If you don't mind looking and letting me know I would appreciate it. :D

I'll look at them tonight...might even be able to get a picture ;) (no promises tho! :D)

Scout 09-13-2007 03:39 PM

A picture would be great! Thanks!! (if you can :D)

I'm really surprised at how nice these doors are. They fit really well, though I need to do a little tweeking. I haven't put on the tops yet, but I'll fit them tonight. I expect them to be just as nice. Only thing I'd say about the whole deal is for crying out loud, pack them better, the box was destroyed and my UPS guy was concerned that they weren't all there.

Scout 09-13-2007 04:22 PM

Oh great. Are there any little pieces in the box I need to look out for?

I think these will be perfect for wheelin trips where it's cold in the morning and warm in the afternoon. At least this will give me an option where my full doors do not. Glad to hear you like them Chris.

tiny terror 09-13-2007 04:27 PM

Yeah, there's two small bags of parts. You have to install the handles and there's spacers for the tops to fine tune the fit.

I wanted the cloth doors so I could wheel without doors, but driving doorless at 80 miles an hour is no fun at 6 in the morning. These I can toss in the back once I get where ever I'm going. They're pretty light and don't take up near as much roon inside, which is good for me because my feet don't touch the floorboard unless I put them to the side of seat.

I'll install the tops tonight so they're ready for Big Bear on Saturday (they have to be tweeked too). Jonh Bull here I come!!!

Why ? You're only going to take it somewhere to have someone else install it for you. What do you care if they have all the parts or not ?

tiny terror 09-13-2007 04:31 PM

Oh and Diamond and Denim are really the pattern more than anything I think. I could ask my buddy at Quadratec if you want.

It's not nice to hate the rich. My butler will be putting them on for me. :flipoff:

Its just a pattern.,my oem soft top is diamond,id rather have denim i think it looks better,my half doors are denim But its just an opinion. It looks the same from 10 feet away.

Here they are. I still need to mess with the fit, but I think they look pretty cool...

Scout 09-13-2007 06:15 PM

Perfect! Those look great!

So you can open them from the inside. I was wondering about that.

tiny terror 09-13-2007 06:17 PM

Yeah you can open them from the inside. It's a bit awkward and it's real tight when the fit's not just right but they seem to get better the closer you get it.

The only thing I don't like about the look is the handles are shiny black. I might take them and rattle can them flat or satin.

Scout 09-13-2007 06:19 PM

So do they seal pretty tight? I'm sure they're not 100% waterproof but 90% would be good. :D

Scout 09-13-2007 06:20 PM

The handles look ok to me. That's a high traffic area so if you were to paint them I'd make sure it's on there well.

tiny terror 09-13-2007 06:21 PM

They've got a serious seal around them. I'd say they're pretty weather tight, but only time will tell.
