toasted ball joint

i have an 04 wrangler and ever since i put a 3" fulltraction lift i've had steering problems. everything was installed right by a reputable shop, but i only have 50,000 miles on it and 1,000 miles since lifting and my right front ball joints are cooked. jeeps aligned but still have bump steer and crazy noises since lift was installed when ever i'm turning and i hit a bump. what should i do. when changing the right front ball joints and knuckles should i do the left at the same time. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you get an alignment? Is the pinon set correctly? How about the track bar.. is it adj or fixed?

i have 33" mickey t mtz's, alignment done, pinion angle never been a problem, and an adjustable track bar that came with the kitis installed. this was the first full traction lift the shop installed because they usually work with rubicon express, so mine was the first, hope its installed right. i've brought it back because of steering problems and they just found the ball joint issue, is it common.

If you replace the ball joints use the Moog adjustable ones. The tops and bottoms are greaseable and they allow a 3 or 4 degree adjustment.

thanks

should i do both the left and the right and do i need to replace the steering knuckles

There shouldn't be any need to replace the knuckles unless there are obvious issues with them. I replaced my balljoints this past winter with TRW and I have been pleased with them so far. Oddly enough it was my lowers that were wore out but since my Heep is 7 years old now I just replaced them all since I had to take the knuckle off .

Do them in pairs, if you take it apart might as well.

I'd have to second that.
