Thanks to all who helped me on tire choice. I decided on the BFG A/T KO. My local Jeep dealer has them ordered at $152 each. That's the best price I could find.- - Another question: My wife and I did a two event at Stratton ski area in Vermont. It was sponsered by Toyota FJ. The instructor said that we need two recovery straps, one that stretches for vehicle-to-vehicle recovery - and one that does not stretch to be used w/ a winch. Did I get this right? Can I buy just one strap? Stretch or not? Length? I believe that metal hooks are a no-no. I want to buy the correct thing the first time. Winch and bumper will be the next big decision. Our new Jeep is a 2003 Rubicon w/ 45K, stick shift, real nice. I'm replacing the windshield due to the fact that the previous owner drove only on the highway and the w/s is pitted beyond belief. $170 for replacement w/ a full guarantee. Thanks for your help. David

Everybody in our club has a recovery strap, It's a requirement. This is one of the best straps I have ever used. A buddy of mine in our club has it and it is lighter. stronger and a lot easier to work with (especially when cold) then any other strap in the group.
I will be getting one myself in the VERY near future.
I only carry a 20 foot recovery strap and use it for everything.

i´ve a 10 meters and a 20 meters 12 tons recovery strap and a 3 meters 12 tons strap to mount the winch cable to trees.
if i get stuck in very deep mud i use a 12 tons 14 meters 50% elastic recovery strap.

I use a 4ply 55k lb rated 40' strap. It the straps they attach to H1s when they parachute them off the big planes. We have pulled out some huge rigs out of the mud and sand with it. the biggest to date is a huge diesel pusher motor home with a enclosed toy box in tow. He was down to his axles in the sand. hahaha one hell of a strap.
David I use the Pro comp Strap from 4 Wheel parts Its a good strap and not alot of $ verry flexable even in the snow, I have had some crappy straps from the Big Box stores and broke one when my buddy tried to pull My 98 tahoe out of the mud. So the pro comp had no problem I got his old one and bought him a new one. It was the least I could do for him getting me out.....LoL Or I might still be there.
