Trails near Toronto for a beginner?

Any suggestions for a beginner who doesn't want to go to crazy?

Matcheen 10-04-2011 08:03 AM

I'm not sure what you consider near the T-dot, but we've got a group going to Parry Sound (Ardbeg) the weekend after Thanksgiving. It's about 2.5 hrs north.

dooch 10-04-2011 04:58 PM

What kind of trails are we talkin' Matcheen?

Matcheen 10-04-2011 11:04 PM

rocks, mud, water...they can be as easy or as hard as you want them to be. YouTube Argbeg jeep.

FenderBender 10-05-2011 02:35 PM

Will you be able to Ardbeg with a stock Jeep? If no, I still may be able to attend cause im looking at a lift/tire/wheels as soon as I find a 4x4 shop that I can trust.

Matcheen 10-06-2011 08:56 PM

May be a bit challenging, but I'll never tell any body what they can or can't do...you just need to think first drive second.

As for off road shops there's just jeeps, rock spyder 4X4,and Saangs fab. I had a small mechanic shop in King City do mine...but the YJ's easy.

check out jeepkings.ca, those are the local guys that will really be a help.

Coke plant is one of if not the best places in sauga, it leads all the way into brampton on some trails. Runs across dixie too along the south side of the 407

boltster 05-30-2014 09:52 AM

Ah coke plant is a great place to go some where u wont get stuck lol well u might...I love hitting up the coke plant I was there last night tearing it up water the water level is down a good bit so crossing the river is easy. Its a good spot u can make it last if u go slow some of the obsticals are kinda tough lol shes a good rip tho I would love to get a few ppl together for a rip thru there

Boxcarwillie 05-30-2014 02:15 PM

Id be interested but no jeep yet. Still D1 purgatory

Unbroken1 06-01-2014 09:58 PM

I'm literally five minutes from the coke plant and I'd used to play there a lot when I had my first Jeep in '08 but I haven't been with the new Jeep because just after I got my Jeep I drove by and there were huge concrete blocks in front of the entrance to the left. Are you just driving over the small dirt hill and entering from the right now?

boltster 06-02-2014 01:04 PM

I go thru another way there is quite a few ways to get in and out

tywl 06-04-2014 11:35 AM

I drove past the coke plant on Tomken the other day...there is an open gate to a field that looked like it had tracks on it...is that one of the ins/outs ?

Also saw what looked like an abandoned suv down there...either stuck or broken down I guess.

Didn't have my jeep or else I may have ducked in there for a quick look.

boltster 06-05-2014 06:48 AM

Thats one of the ways I dident get to go last sunday but if I have enough time tops commin off and ima runner this sunday night round 8 or 9 if a few rigs r down im down cant have too manny cuz thag will just heat the scene out hard

boltster 06-05-2014 07:53 AM

Lol we should all meet up at timmies one night

Boxcarwillie 06-05-2014 08:35 AM

Im still a few weeks from shipping, but im def down, figure its a decent trail to start with a stock jeep

boltster 06-05-2014 12:34 PM

Are you getting a brand new jeep?

Boxcarwillie 06-05-2014 12:40 PM

Yep, ordered may 14 so estimated ship date is june 21st

boltster 06-05-2014 12:55 PM

Ohhh man ur not gonna wanna go there with new paint

Boxcarwillie 06-05-2014 01:02 PM

Then whats the point of buying a jeep

boltster 06-05-2014 01:11 PM

Lol right on I like the way u think

Boxcarwillie 06-05-2014 01:32 PM

If I didnt have to remove my hard top and set up the soft top plus install my security trunk id drice straight to the plant fron the dealership

boltster 06-05-2014 01:40 PM
