I am brand new to this site and am very impressed with the info I have found already. I see many hours at work reading when I should be working. LOL

anyway here's my question. I bought a kilby gas tank skid and need to release the pressure in the fuel line before dropping the tank. and I don't have a service manual yet. so first question where is the best place to get one quick. I want to install this this weekend. what is the best one to get. I also have rocker guards and a Nth degree engine skid on the way so I'm sure I will need the manual for something else soon. any help would be appreciated.

if it is easy maybe someone could post the procedure for the pressure release. thanks

The fuel pressure is easily released via the Schraeder valve you'll find located on the fuel rail between the fuel injectors. Unscrew the black plastic cap and after placing a towel underneath it to catch the small amount of fuel that will squirt out, push the center pin to relieve the pressure.

It's just a bigger version of the same valve used on our tires to air them up.

I snagged the image off one of the many listings I saw on Ebay for the manual.

thank you for the tips. I will use them. I found another way on another site last night here is what they said to do.

3. You will need to release the pressure in your fuel system. To do this, remove your fuel cap and then pull your fuel pump relay from the PDC as shown in the pic to the left. Start and run your engine until it stalls. Attempt to restart your engine until it will no longer run. Turn off your ignition and then disconnect the negative battery cable.

I think your way is the correct one to take. any thought on what option would be better?

The way Jerry pointed you with the schrader valve will be much quicker.

the new skid is in!!! it took me and a buddy about 3 hours to install. thanks for the tips using the Schraeder valve released the pressure easily. we also installed the Nth degree engine skid. I now feel like I have a pretty protected under belly. still waiting on the Shrockworks rocker guards and can't wait to get them installed. once I get them on in the next couple weeks I will try and get some pictures of my jeep on here somewhere. thanks again for all the help.
