1310 or 1350
I'm getting a 3.5" Rock Krawler X Factor Mid Arm Lift installed on my 2012 JKU Rubicon next week. The lift has a lot of flex and I know that I can't flex it much without damaging the front driveline and/or the exhaust.
I don't want to mess with the exhaust until more information is available, so for now, I want to help the situation some by installing a smaller diameter driveline. I was thinking about a 1350, but a mechanic told me to stick with a 1310. I told him that I might go with 37" tires in the future and he told me to stick with the 1310.
When I asked why, he said that the 1310 would be the weak link. It is cheaper and easier to fix a broken driveline or u-joint than to fix something broken in the transfer case or axle. He said installing the 1350 could make other parts of the drive train the weak link. He made sense, but what is your opinion on which driveline to get? I'm leaning towards the 1310. Also, what brand driveline should I be looking for? I've seen several out there, but is one really better than the rest?
