Need help on LIFT KIT....... HELP
 
:cool::cool: i got a 2011 Jeep Wrangler 70th Ann, I want to lift the car up because it looks so bad ass :punk:. But I am having a hard time finding a affordable kit :confused: So I need you pros to give me some suggestions. What is the best and most affordable kit?

teraflex 2.5 in BB is a good option for the Jks clears 35in tall tires and not very expensive.

and its only a Car if you race it

i dont really wanna do a BB, i kinda have the mentality of going big or going home. I think i wanna go with a full kit. What are some options if i go with a 3inch kit? or maybe even if i move down to a 2.5inch?

When you go with a lift, you want to make sure you get a quality one. We see a lot of guys go the cheaper route on lift only to have to redo it later because it sags or they dont like the height. So, make sure you get a quality lift that you can grow it when you need to. Some of the more popular ones that come to mind is Rock Krawler, Synergy Suspension, and TeraFlex. Each one offers a 2.5" lift that would work great as a starting point for your new build. There is Pros of each with very little Cons! Feel free to let us know if we can help. I think the word "economy lift kit" used in conjunction with 4-5" makes for a scary sentence... could just be me though...

Agreed. Don't skimp with your suspension. If it's an off road trailer queen that's one thing. Do you really want to put your life on the life with an "economy" suspension?

Also on a JK anything more then a 2.5 bb or full sl is over kill for most JK owners IMO as you can fit 35's on with that much lift. Of course with the larger tire size your probably gonna want to regear also and thats no cheap. You'll also need new wheels

what exactly do you intend to do with it?

If you're just going for a huge look and aren't going to really wheel it, then look at 2" body and 2" suspension lifts and combine the two. splitting the two will keep the complications down. Going higher than 2" on either will cause you to have to address a lot of other things like brake lines, steering and driveshaft geometries, bump stops, and all sorts of issues. 2" of each will keep those issues to a more manageable level for a non-offroad type of guy.

the resulting 4" of lift will clear tires all the way up to 37", but you'll need an expensive regear to go that high. 35" is resonable for a stick and 33" for an auto, depending on the ratio you have stock.

having said all that... keep in mind that the bigger you go, the less roadworthy your jeep gets, and it wasn't really designed to be on-road friendly to begin with...

To tell you the truth Im not a extreme off-roader. Yes i do go off-roading but the places I go to, can be easily done with my stock Jeep as of right now. I kinda want the look, the 2inch with the 2inch body lift makes the best sense to me. It keeps it simple and still looks good.

That was kinda was I was sensing in your post... hard to tell with text, but it sounds like the best fit.

totally NOT the "recommended" course of action, but if you're willing to give up handling and stability for looks, then it's probably the best course in your case.
