Lighting Screw UP!
I have screwed up. :nonono:
I purchased a set of IPF 968 Driving lights and mounted them at the windshield. Now after hooking them up I can see these are better as a front end/bumper mounted light.
The throw a beam that is part driving/part fog. :thumb:
Right now I'm getting a really well lighted hood!
Obviously I need to move these to the front. Now the question is what should I put at the windshield? I want something that will throw a long beam for use in the woods at night.
Also anyone suggest a really simple mount for the front end that won;t require making a mess?
The good news is the IPF kit wiring was so simple to put togeather that I never cut any wires so the move from being mounted at the windshield to the front bumper should.....should be simple.
Just ordered the bumper brackets that Quadratec sells. Should be simple to re-route my lights to the bumper. Now that I will have to remove the front grill I'll stick in a screen in back as well.....(now to find that thread).
I'll give your suggestion a look-see. Thanks.
I have the 968's on a hoop on my bumper. They are great there, especially with the 100W bulbs.
From what I've read here, most lights will cast a glare off of the hood. If you want to mount something there, get a fog type light with a wide beam and angle them off to the sides to work as ditch spotters. That's my plan. When you're crawling, you get that lighting dead spot behind the headlights, and something like this would eliminate that.
Two words... Rigid Industries! These little lights pack a HUGE punch! They sare super bright! We also have free shipping on them!!
Here is a link to our thread in the vendor section:
There, you can see pictures and see how much light these put out. The pictures dont do them any justice though!
