Tools!

So i know we all have em, we all own jeeps :thumb:, but which ones do you carry??
I carry in a small metal box:
A torx multi tool
13 mm wrench
small chanel lock
1/2 nut driver
utility knife
fuse puller
spark plug gap
screwdriver and 6 bits
flashlight
and in an amo can:
led coleman flashlight (better then my dads mag;)
stuff for removing hard top (3 hooks and 3 ratchiting straps)
clear box (to keep bolts in from top and nuts/fuse from doors)
my footpegs.
work and mechanics gloves
wheel locks
and just in the back my coleman folding shovel which has been used more than i thought XD

Good list, however, make it better and ad an air gage and or mini air compressor, hack saw, vise grips, 20 oz bottle of water, duct tape, matches, a $5 rain poncho and a tow strap

Good point on the air gage! i just ran out there and threw our extra one in there. along with a zippo and some fuel (gota remember to take that out before going back to school in a few days). But i keep a tow rope in the amo when my top is off (i usually wheel with top off) il have to remember that other stuff ;)

I am not a tool, and I don't appreciate being called one.

I usually keep myself in the Jeep at all times when driving / wheeling

Just kidding

Actually, I keep pretty much everything mentioned above in my rig, but I also carry a full mechanics toolbox kit as well including most socket types, torx / allen bits, a cordless impact, a cordless drill, & spare wiring tools along with some various wire types.

I'm kinda bad when it comes to overkill.

JDGROVER 10-10-2011 11:54 AM

and don't forget the portable torch, i also go a little overboard.

Celtic 10-10-2011 12:01 PM

Add to the above:

WD40, silicone spray, bubble gum and bailing wire, fuses, mallet and metal chisel, various size stainless clamps, heavy duty 18" zip ties...

JDGROVER 10-10-2011 12:04 PM

heavy duty zip ties is a great idea!

jkaufman_95 10-10-2011 12:11 PM

I carry some big azz zip ties with me. Works well and you can use them as handcuffs if need be :)

The Toolman 10-10-2011 12:58 PM

Wow, some really good ideas coming out of this one. Great thread!!!

I also remembered one I didn't mention ... Good quality Jump Start Box, along with some cables just in case the jump start box decides not to cooperate that day

Zjones1994 10-10-2011 02:08 PM

Definitely like the idea of some of this! I might need another ammo can;) I definitely want a torch. Not just the jeep but for at home xD but being a teen with limited income and dad not encouraging working on vehicles.. haha you see where im goin. But keep the list goin guys!

I carry that too. It works great!

JDGROVER 10-11-2011 11:10 AM

another thing i forgot to mention is a spark plug socket and enough oil to do a full change incase you get hydro locked you can pull the plugs crank it to get the water out and change the oil then drive home.

Michigunman 10-11-2011 01:10 PM

Don't forget a valve stem tool and maybe an extra core or two. Cheap and small. I had a core come loose while airing up on my last trip.
