LOL, I hear ya. Well, if you are ever in the area, let me know, there is a neat place not too far from Midland that you can take Jeeps / ATV's. It's an old lake that dried up, but still gets muddy in the middle, then on the outskirts, etc. there is a decent amount places to crawl. It's nothing compared to the trails you see advertised in alot of other places, but definitely good enough to get your fix.

I noticed in older threads in this forum that there were ppl. in the area who were members of this forum, but apparantly they are no longer active.

I'm in Midland. What area are you talking about? Over by Stanton?

KidRock171 10-17-2011 04:44 PM

Lubbock. not in midland but it sure is west Texas. what up boys!

The Toolman 10-17-2011 05:37 PM

Hello there Scout, KidRock.

Yep, I was talking about the place east of Stanton. Haven't been there in a long time though. Ever get a chance to get out there?

Any good places to go around Lubbock?

KidRock171 10-17-2011 06:38 PM

Lbk is pretty flat. There a couple holes I know of but I'm not technically allowed have motor vehicles there. I crawl when and where I can though. That lake bed sounds fun. Midland/Odessa is what? Two three hours from lbk?

I just back home to east texas. drove through that front with my soft top on. There was a time or two I thought it was going to come off.

KidRock171 10-18-2011 04:47 AM

Ouch, I bet that was definitely fun, I just moved back to West Texas from PA & was unloading the Jeep from the U-Haul right before it hit. I was worried there for a bit but I got it in the garage as it started blowing really hard here.

Which rig are you on? I'm an ex-driller by the way, now I'm a field boss for a tool company.

There's supposed to be an event at marble falls sometime around thanksgiving this year. I had some guy at school jump a median and park on the wrong side of the street in his FJ to give me a flyer.

I grew up in Abilene, but live in the DFW area now. Does that count?

Some bash it, but after living in the Metroplex, I'd love to move back west and enjoy the slow pace of "country" life again. I miss it so bad.

KidRock171 10-21-2011 11:03 PM

As long as you hate Dallas. Your cool with me.

Anyone else out there? Also, does anyone know of any local Jeep meets/jamborees? Something you don't have to drive 4 hours + to...
