Cleaning oxidized aluminum wheels

I have Dick Cepek aluminum wheels and they are horribly oxidized. They are non-coated aluminum. I've tried Mothers polish with and without the polishing wheel (ball?) and didnt get very far with the hours of effort put into it. Anyone have any tips on how to clean them up and make them shine again? I've seen a thread on here where someone used a nylon wheel in their power drill and it seems to have worked well. I've also read about someone using oven cleaner, which is a little scary to me.

Here's what my rims should look like

I was gonna recommend that nylon bristled thing cuz I saw that thread as well...I dont have any personal experience with the aluminum though.

If it's really bad you can use a rubbing compound.

Try a new product called Metal Wax
It is a 3 step process that actually works

I have used it on lots of aluminum and stainless on my boat

You won't be disappointed
It's great on diamond plate too

You can always try reverse electroplating.

Here is a link to a basic method.
Electrolysis Cleaning Method

Be careful with aluminum as it is a softer metal. Do not go for longer than 15 minutes at a time. Remove the rim and give it a light brushing to remove the oxidation. Repeat if needed.

I use this method for cleaning old rifle bores and it really gets the cr@p off.
