pwfoster281 10-20-2011 02:43 PM

back way thru seabrook. 146 to spur 330. to 2100 up thru highlands

delalto23 10-20-2011 02:45 PM

What exactly is out there? Where are located?

pwfoster281 10-20-2011 03:26 PM

it is private land. off road park. 700 acres. there is a main road that runs from the main entrance all the way to the beach( san jacinto river) then off of the main road there a whole bunch of trails. the place use to be a old sand pit so you have hill climbs. there hasnt been much mud lately but there is some. cost 10 bucks to get your jeep in and then 10 bucks a person. 5 for a 4 wheeler. if you look online for DOWN SOUTH OFFROAD PARK in crosby you can see pics and vids. they are also on face book

Hey I really appreciate that! Maybe we'll run into each other some day

I don't live too far from you (Friendswood) and I believe the 4 closest parks to us in order of distance are: Down South, Creekside Edge, General Sam's and Hidden Falls near Austin.

P.S. Weekends are best for me :thumb:

pwfoster281 10-22-2011 04:58 PM

I didn't even think about shilo ridge. For some reason I thought it was much farther than going to hidden falls.

Good to know, thanks!

pwfoster281 10-23-2011 09:12 PM

ya , shilo ridge- i can make it in an hour and a half from my house just north of houston. i can make it to frenswood in 45 min.

The main road that goes to the beach is no problem at all if it's dry. When it's wet it's a little slippery but still doable. Even when it was soaking wet and raining I was able to drive from the entrance all the way to the beach in 2wd. It's when you go off of the main road and onto the trails that you might run into more challenging terrain. They have sand, water, hills, and mud. You pick what you want:)
