Cb question

So me and my brother put CB's in our Jeeps and I can hear everything he is sayin but anytime I say anything all he can hear is a long beep. What could be the problem?

Well after lookin at my brothers mount we figured it out. It was the nylon washer that needed to be on the top of my bumper instead of the bottom. Who woulda think
It? Oh well I'm just glad my cb works.

be sure to tune the antenna also or else you can fry the cb's

See I was gonna but my buddy's dad drives truck and he ain't got his tuned and he uses it the same way that I'm gonna, just on the trails. I read on firestik.com that it will mess it up if you talk for a long time it can mess it up. Just curious as to what tuning actually does and it's advantages?

tuning allows for maximum power output through said antenna. With out tuning, a feedback wave can develop in the antenna wire and harm the Cb.

Lots of threads here about SWR and tuning.

Well I called around today and NOBODY even messes with cb radios. Ugh I also did a search on how to tune them myself and couldn't really find what I was looking for. How hard is it to tune an antennae? Any and all help is appreciated.

It's super easy, you just need to buy a meter and a jumper cable (like so - CB SWR Meter with Jumper Cable - $26.95) and follow the included instructions.
