Home Made Items

I know there are 100's of you Jeepers out there who have wanted something in your Jeep, to do a particular job and found that it was not available to buy commercially. SO what does every good Jeeper do, WE DESIGN IT AND MAKE IT OURSELVES.

This tread is for those home made things that you are so glad you have and would like to share with other Jeepers so WE can enjoy it also.

I have a few things in the back of my mind, but I haven't got them on paper or in the fab shop yet.

Looking into making my own roof rack when I get a hardtop. I'd rather not drop 700 bucks on something that is essentially a big steel box...

I built a custom pallet for my Jeep.

I use it to haul stuff like bricks, mulch, and my spare tire before I got the additional tire carrier for my bumper.

I designed the platform like a pallet for the following reasons. To give a flat/even surface for my haul. To protect my amp, which is installed beneath where the rear seat would be. To ensure air flow to my amp. The compartments where a pallet jack's/fork lift's forks would go also doubles for storage. I can store my windows in them without fear of them blowing out (I saw that happen to another jeeper).

I fabricated a set of fender flares out of 3/4'' conduit and 16ga. steel.
The total cost was only $60 :D:dance:

Made a mount for CJ mirrors out of 3/4" rigid conduit. 8" to the 90 degree bend on both sides, 3/8" x 16 bolt welded in the end and fed thru the upper hinge.

I also made highway pegs....

I also have a yoke holder... a 3' solid bar with a 1/2" steel square frame on the end to capture the yoke with leverage on the ground to remove the pinion nut with an impact... also holds it down for accurate torque.

I am working on a full length, under the rear seat storage drawer. relocates the rear seat up 4". Stainless Steel slider drawer at 30" deep and 30" wide.... 3.5" high.... Taking me a while to complete it....

Not home made but I like them. LED bulbs in my Delta day time driving lamps
$ 3.00 from e bay. I picked up blue LED for the interior as well for super cheap on eBay.
