Tom Wood's Custom Drive Shafts: Ask Tom Here

To all:

I do not spend much time on the Internet. One reason is; I barely have time to take care of all the business E-mail (which I personally answer). For a poor typist like me, this can be tough! Also, I have often stated and firmly believe, the Internet should be for the open and free exchange of information without the possibility of corruption from corporate bias. For the greatest part, I think it is unethical for me to “pimp” our product. I think the market should decide what is best with all the information available to them.

In light of the above, I want to let all of you to know; you should not expect regular postings, from me, on this site. If you have specific questions that need to be answered quickly, it is always best to give us a call. Our telephone numbers can be found on this link: Tom Wood's Custom Drive Shafts - Contact Us For those of you in the US, and if you can remember something simple; our toll free, vanity, number is 1-877-4X-SHAFT. If you have a little more time for your answers, you can always send an E-mail from our contact page.

If you send a question to me via E-mail, you can certainly post my answers anywhere you want on this forum. The only thing I ask is; complete & truthful context. In fact, if you would do this for me, I will appreciate it as it would probably reduce the number of E-mail I need to attend to.

Oftentimes, people will ask about forum member discounts. I do not generally do this. The reasons for this are twofold. The first being our re-sellers discounts are fairly minimal. I need protect the integrity of these discounts for our vendors who have invested in product, buildings and manpower. The second reason is they are difficult to administer and confirm any forum member is actually a forum member entitled to a discount.

In closing, I hope my presence can be beneficial to all.

Sincerely & with Best Regards to all,

Tom Wood

Howdy Tom!

Thanks again for the great driveshafts and u-joints. Hope to see you this years' Trail Tour. Sorry I missed you last year, but James's birth was more important. :D

:punk:Welcome Tom,:punk:

I'm certainly enjoying my TW front drive shaft. It is truly a work of art & the whole experience; ordering, pricing, install & function was top notch. I'll call you when the rear starts to spit grease, lol.

Many Thanks, Bruce

I was very happy with my purchase, it worked as advertised. Excellent documentation as well.

Hoping that this is still being monitored a bit, but I have a question that i think many here would benefit from hearing a professional answer...

I have seen a number of posts from "experienced" jeepers that JK driveshafts are interchangeable between JKs and JKUs...at least the fronts (and never with model years defined).

Can you please specify if any model years do not follow this rule, as i have also heard that there was a slight change in the engine position mid-way through the 12 model year, which required a change in front/rear DS lengths? Will a 2012 early model JKU front shaft fit in a 2011 or earlier model JK or JKU?

I am currently waiting on my SYE and shaft from Tom's. The TJ is sitting in the driveway with a new Currie 4in lift, waiting on the last pieces to join the party. Should be here MOnday. :D

Replacing my front soon and my first upgraded drive shaft WILL be Tom Woods as I've heard nothing but good good good from everyone who has them or knows someone who does. I can't wait to take my measurements after my Rancho LA is installed and have mine shipped to me :)
