New exhaust and cold air intake

Hi everyone! I am think of some of the mods I want to do with my '08 Wrangler X. I was thinking of putting a new exhaust on it to make it sound a little bit louder and beeifer. Any suggestion on good brands? Oh and no I don't want my jeep to sound like one of thos weed whacker fart machines you hear driving around

Additionally, I have seen a few cold air intakes for my JK, and I was wondering if they are worth it? I had some friends that put them into their Camaros and Firebirds and they loved it. Any thoughts? Thanks as always.

I put a flowmaster on mine and it sounds great at low rpms but if you get on it and shift to the next its a farter. But low rpms it sounds like a gurgling monster.

I've read here that MBRP cat back is good. Also read that cold air intake is pretty much a waste of money.

I have a two door 09. I first installed a Banks CAI without exhaust mods. It added sound, some may say noise, and there are a little improvement in the engine's ability to hold speed without lugging and needing to shift down. Next I went with a Flowmaster 50 Series. It had a terrible drone to it so we installed a 12" resonator mid-pipe. It improved the sound but the drone was still there and super annoying. The muffler shop swapped the Flowmaster out for a Magnaflow stainless steel straight-through model. The sound is very good for this engine (never very good) and the drone is gone. The improvements from the exhaust and CAI are noticeable. They do not add huge power gains but they do make the vehicle more drivable for my needs so the money spent was justified. I bought the CAI used off of one of these forums. The exhaust was $170 at a local shop.

Good luck.

Same here.

Bought my banks CAI used. In the process
of replacing the oil filter with a dry one.

Not worth no $300 new IMO and can't help with the exhaust. Been considering one though, FLO 40 is very popular.

The gains just don't justify the cost.

Sup to you, your money :)
