Hi, I recently had to replace steering column on my 95yj. All had seemed to go well. until last night when I went to take a test drive with new aux lights to see how they looked. so I only turned on park lights and aux lights. When I turned on head lights Nothing! No head lights. All other lights worked fine. I have driven the jeep w/new (junkyard) column for about a week, but never needed the lights. I checked all fuses. I did not have to remove light switch to replace column, but will pull it out today to see if wire's pulled loose. Could it be that dimmer switch in column is bad and causing me to have no head lights ? no low or high beam.

the dimmer switch is not in the steering column....there's a piece in there that pushes on the steel rod in there that actually actuates the dimmer switch...and yes a bad dimmer switch can cause a headlight outage....

Would the dimmer switch have come with the column? where is the dimmer switch? Is there an easy way to trouble shoot it ? Thanks
