New jeep owner - hello (& wheel help maybe)

Morning all,

I have just signed on the dotted line for a new 2012 model Wrangler unlimited. Mainly because they look awesome, but it suits my life style by the beach and exploring. I have zero off road experience - something that I'm looking to address fairly quickly.

A wheel related question if anyone has the time to answer

I have gone for the 20 inch wheels - these are fitted locally once the jeep released here, which the 2012 models aren't yet (they are still selling 2011 stock off) so I can cancel these if needs be. I've read some stuff about 20" vs the standard 17" and was hoping someone may be able to tell me why either would be better or worse. The 20s look the nuts, but thats pretty pointless if its going to restrict my off roaring capability?

I will also be using as my daily commuting car if that makes a difference.

Thanks in advance

First I've seen 20s mentioned. New to me, but it's your jeep.

Thanks for the rapid response - it may be a local australian thing - as I search the forums here for info I see a lot of 18" being talked about.

Interested to understand potential impacts on off road performance if you have any insights based on you experiences with other sizes?
