I am most likely not the first person to come up with this, but it was cheep and easy, so here is what I did.
I started with two 2 ˝ in x 1/4in x 5in long U bolts I picked up for $1.50 each. I then picked up a 2ft piece of 5/8 fuel line for about $2.00.

I cut two sections of fuel line off, long enough to cover each U bolt leaving the threads exposed. I oiled the inside of the fuel line so it would easily slide over the u bolt.
I then placed one U bolt on each side of the roll bar in the back of my TJ. I placed them just above the seatbelt mechanism and just below the roll bar padding on each side. The fuel line is to serve as a cushion to protect the roll bar and serves to absorb any vibration caused by the jack. The U bolts I chose had a plate that was used to keep the 1/2in. nuts from pulling through the holes in the jack rail.

My Hi-Lift is a 60” (well it was before I cut it off)
It would not fit in the back of my Jeep so I cut 3 “holes” off the main rail.
I removed the base and cut from the bottom so the base would cover the cut end.

I may cut one more hole off as it is still a tight fit. If it happens to slide down the roll bar it may rest on the inside lip of my hard top. This could damage the inside of the top. It fits, but just barely. (Note: It has been in my Jeep for a week and has been on one 6hr trail ride with no issues or movement at the original length.)
I chose to remove the base when the jack is mounted in the Jeep. It was preventing me from mounting it like I wanted it, with out touching the back seat or touching anything on either end. I used the bolt that came with the Hi-Lift that held the small plate used as an attaching point on the jack.

I ran the bolt through one of the holes in the jack rail and into the mounting hole of the small plate.

I then placed the base on top of the small plate and through one of the existing holes in the base. I then placed the nut on the bolt for a perfect fit. (It is almost like it was made to fit together like that. Maybe it is.)

I added my new “Jack mate” and a new handle isolator to help keep the handle quiet and in place.

I placed the Hi-lift jack on the U bolts and tightened the bolts to find a small amount of movement. I then placed on each side one 3in. piece of tubing between the jack rail and the roll bar to take up the slack. After a few days of driving I noticed the “Jack Mate” was making some noise rocking on the jack rail. I took two 3” pieces of the fuel line and split them down the middle about 1.5” down the tubing. This allowed the tube to collapse and wedge between the “Jack Mate” and the Hi-Lift jack rail to stop the movement.

That looks like a nice alternative to the one River Raider makes. I think theirs mounts in the same place. Good work! :thumb:

thanks for the photo posting tip. somehow i missed that button. and i am looking forward to the versatility of the jack mate. i may do a review after i have used it a few times.

I just got three quick release pipe claps and went around my roll bar. I put it going from trunk to front of car but it an unlimited so it just fits put a tennis ball on the end by passenger seat and all good
