So i just finished installing my SYE and CV driveshaft from Adam's Driveshaft. Took it to work and noticed that the speedometer wasnt moving from 0. Pulled into work and as i was parking, it suddenly died. Didnt think much of it until i went home and it died 4 more times within 20 minutes. All of which when i was in Neutral and coming to a stop. Has a pretty weak idle as well. Just so you guys know, i had a tcase drop. Obviously dont anymore. Im gonna pull the speedo gear tomorrow and see if there is any damage.
and im getting error code 500 (no vehicle speed sensor)

Make sure that the gear on the speedo sensor is meshing properly with the gear in the transfer case. It would definitely cause your speedo to stop working, and it may be causing the engine to shut down as well.
Where the speedo sensor enters the transfer case it is ob longed so depending on how you put it in the gears may not be in contact.

glad to hear that this might be the source of the engine cutting out. thanks for the reponse!

No problem. My guess is that the jeep knows its moving and since its not getting feedback from the speed sensor it thinks there is a problem. Your jeep is smarter than most people :)

Still can't figure this out! What could be the issue??

Your speedometer gear housing on the transfer case is just not rotated to the right position so the speedometer gear can reliably engage the pinion gear underneath. Rotate the housing a bit more.

Jerry, you are the man. Its working now. Had to rotate 45 degrees more. Thanks!
