The Thread About What Guys Should Get Their Women

I know I'm not the only one that's stumped and needs help around this festive time of year!

So.... Ideas???:D

crafty 12-06-2011 08:36 PM

Sign up for Groupon or livingsocial--- let the ideas come to you. I always want Jeep stuff but I am strange like that.

ladyjane 12-06-2011 08:37 PM

I like gift cards or money and a day out to go spend it all!!!!

jcf 12-06-2011 08:43 PM

Women love jewellery

RatherBNarizona 12-06-2011 08:46 PM

I usually go with "Honey, I didn't get you anything because I give you love every day".
Try it out and let me know how it goes! :D

I know that it's difficult for some of you, but try to listen for little hints and nuances. Has she mentioned that she would like to join a gym? Does she get her nails done? What are her hobbies? Is she a collector of anything?

Gift certificates to her favorite hair or nail salon, or a bit of pampering at a day spa.
As JCF mentioned, jewelry is always good. Buy her a pandora bracelet and a few charms. You can add charms for years of gift giving. Godiva Chocolate is another good choice.

One word of warning... DO NOT GIVE ANYTHING THAT RELATES TO THE KITCHEN OR HOUSEWORK unless she specifically asks for it. Even if she says "I could use some new cookware" that does not make it suitable as a gift!

Nah, get her an iron or a vacuume cleaner. I actually did buy her an iron once. She did not throw it at me and we are still married.

James Avery all the way.....the next best thing to stuff for the Jeep:thumb:

I got two bracelets full of charms & am getting ready to start a 3rd

jmt27 12-06-2011 09:50 PM

A 2 night trip a couple hours away where u guys can go to a spa casino etc and give her a necklace

jcf 12-06-2011 09:51 PM

↑ OMG I just fell in love!
(not really I am married)
Instead of Jeep parts, give her(if she has a Jeep) a gift card from somewhere she can buy her own things, thats better than getting her a part she doesn't really want

so JD, i guess that new washing machine is out. since she has more jewelry than she wants, along with the usual spa gift cards, i going to try something different this year. since she won't let me get her a new grand cherokee, i am going to have her 04 completely detailed including having a few scratches and dings fixed. what do you think JD

No wonder soo many guys are broke....some of the things mentioned in here are EXPENSIVE! And I have no idea what this "James Avery" is.........

Ichabod 12-08-2011 09:46 AM

^^^^^X2,

Back this summer, the wife was out on a walk with a neighbor, so my daughters (6 and 8) wrote her "Good Night Mommy" notes, I dug them out of the wifes little keepsake box and had them framed with the date engraved on it. Pretty cute with the kiddie writing and misspellings, I think she'll dig it.

She always says she has too much stuff (Bless her, now you know why I married this one!) and doesn't really want anything so I have to get creative.

Another inexpensive idea:
I raided my aunt's photo albums a few years back and pulled pictures from my mom's family growing up. I picked out pix of her parents, grandparents, sisters and brothers going back to the 50's and 60's and had them made into a calendar at Walgreen's or Office Depot...cost maybe twenty bucks and made Mom cry like a baby. Now they hang in her kitchen all year.

We took that idea and now we get calendars for just about everybody and it's pretty cheap to have done. You can also buy a program to make your own calendar and upload pics from your computer to it.
Just make sure yopu use pics that they like, not 12 months of Jeeps in the snow :)
