2012 Unlimited Rubicon payload

Could anyone with a 2012 JK Unlimited Rubicon with automatic transmission let me know the payload specified on the loading placard? I can't find a definitive answer online in any documentation.

Does it vary between 3.73 and 4.10 axle ratio or depending on tow package?

Thanks.

Anyone?

The nearest dealer Rubicon is 120 miles away so I can't look myself...

In case anyone else does a search....

Found a 2012 JKU automatic Rubicon (with Max. Tow Package and 4.10 axles) at the local dealer and took a look before my test-drive.

The label on the driver's side door column states that the total load of cargo and passengers is not to exceed 850 lbs.

This seems low for such a robust vehicle and does not agree with the table at Jeep Towing/Payload Comparison | Jeep.com which shows 1081 lbs.

My tire and carrying capacity label reads 850 lbs., just like your example.

4 guys my size and you couldn't carry ANY cargo, by that standard....

Yes, I'm sure the vehicle is capable of 1000+ lbs in normal operation. The door panel value (850 lbs) is to cover themselves in the case of some component failure (brakes, steering, suspension etc.) in a crash where they could show that the cargo + passengers loading was higher.

To muddy things even further, I found another value online at http://www.media.chrysler.com/dcxms/...nltd_Specs.pdf which shows 892 lbs (see last table).

I guess as far as we're concerned the max payload value is "only a suggestion". ;)
