MBRP, Gobi, or Garvin on white top

Anyone have pics or any roof racks attached to their white hardtop? I'm trying to get an idea of what the different racks I like might look like on my Arctic.

Hi Phishe,

I am just posting here so that I am subscribed to this thread. I am waiting on delivery of an all white JKU Rubi and eventually want to throw a rack on it for overlanding. I'm really interested to see how the various choices look on the all white.

By the way, love your Jeep! :thumb:

Also, how do you like the black hood decal? I've heard some people really like it for reducing glare. What are your thoughts on it?

I personally love it. Like The Dude's rug, I think the decal will really tie all my mods together once I get them done.

I also wouldn't mind seeing the Body Army rack on a white top.

Also, for those of you who have any of these racks, what do you like/not like about your rack system?

I have the Wilderness rack made by Garvin. Love everything about it. It's super well made, tough, powder coated... and the customer service is bar none. Family owned/run business. I was told the other day that the Dad goes in in the middle of the night, and fiddles/invents/works..... I had mine installed at the factory, and it was a pleasure to meet them. Highly recommended.

Any way you can post pics of the outfit from different angles? Also, how much of a pain is it to remove the hardtop and put on a soft top?

It takes 2 people, and you have to undo 6 bolts. Raise the rack 90 degrees, and set it - with the provided hardware. Change tops, lower it. Can't be done by 1 person.
Sorry the one photo is sideways?

I've read a lot of good things about the Garvin's, as well.

Personally, I like the way the Wild Boar lifts out of the way for changing hard top, soft top, lowering soft top, etc.

As for wondering what they look like on specific-colored Jeep's, I think your best bet is to look at their websites, check out their features, and mentally extrapolate the color of your Jeep into their photos.

Thanks for the info. GREAT lookin' rig!

Thanks Phishe. Bumper/winch come in a week...
I'm in snow country (think slush all over the sides) so I'm having Terra Flex Plus guys here in UT put on removable mud flaps on Tuesday. I can't stand having all the salt/slush mixture thrown all over my jeep every time I go down the mountain, and back up...
Dual batteries after that... then close to finished. Rear bumper will follow... as finances loosen up a bit.
I'm liking your hood... I think a full rack will really up the ante on your jeep... besides being infinitely useful (for me anyway). Heck, I even stand up on it with my tripod if I want to remove foreground (I'm a photog)...
Edited to add: obviously these photos are not taken here... they are from my summer/fall home.

Have fun building... I sure am!

Do far I think I like the MPRB the best for my Jeep. The only thing I can't decide is if I want the capability of a rack when not using the hard top. Don't even have a soft top now, but I'm sure I will once spring gets here.

*So* far, that is.

Phishe, I'd double-check that the MBRP will fit a '12. The rear side windows are much larger, so there's a lot less material in the D (or C for you) pillar for mounting the rack. I'd ask if they've tested the fit and updated their drilling templates.

You're right. Looks like it won't work for a '12 2dr. I'm hoping they'll fix that...
