BDS 3" v.s TeraFlex 3"
 
Which one of these would be the better buy? Pros and Cons between the two? Hoping someone has some experience with either one of these two items.

Both are great quality, What I like better about the BDS is their warranty. They have a "No Fine Print Warranty. If you are the original purchaser of any BDS product and it breaks, we will give you a new part. Period."

If i wanted to add a few more inches to these kit, could i just add spacers?

Sorry for these noob questions i know very little about lift kits.

Also The pros and Cons between how the two compare as far as drive-ability on and off road..

They are both 3in, I would not worry about adding a few inches unless you are planning on larger than 37in tyres. The JK doesnt need a lot of lift to fit bigger tyres, and a larger lift brings on larger problems, especially once you get over the 3 to 4 in mark. You would be better off going long arms if you want that sort of height.

As for the lifts, I know nothing of the BDS, but I do run a few Teraflex bits and they are very good.

The BDS has a rear chassis trackbar bracket - not a fan personally as they extend an already weak point for further leverage. Teraflex use an axle mounted version (I have one of these) and they are really solid.

On the other hand the BDS includes shocks at almost the same price as the Teraflex.

I would go with Teraflex. They have great customer service and make a great lift on and off road. DO NOT add spacers to your 3" lift.

Does BDS do the rear trackbar for a reason? Does it do anything positive having that vs teraflexs axle mounted version?

The bds is about 250$ cheaper too..this is tough for me.. Does one come with better shocks than the other? Ride quality? Body roll.. Etc

I had both in the past and present and i prefer BDS (not by much).In my experience Teraflex shocks are too stiff.I had it on my TJ and ended up replacing it with Ranchos.The shocks i had that came with my BDS lift is comparable to the OEM shocks.

So i just called TeraFlex and apparently Since i have a 2012, I need to also purchase 1.5 ehxaust spacer and a new front drive shaft for it to fit properly.. That's going to cost an extra 500$ plus...

Where as with BDS it fits with no problems and i can get that kit for about 750$

I can also use the money i save with BDS to install a steering stabilizer..

I think BDS is probably going to be the way to go... Saving money plus getting quality parts / No questions asked warranty..

Being someone is going to be using this mainly for daily driving and every now and than off road.. I think it's the best "bang for the buck" besides i can always upgrade parts later on...

So let me ask you this, How do you like the rancho kit vs the BDS kit?

No mine is Teraflex leveling kit. I have no need to lift any higher than that. I like the BDS kits though. Will try their shocks when time comes and already have order in process for a steering stabilizer.

Yep, I saw that.. Believe it's included with the 3" kit for the 12's:)

Pretty excited about this kit! seems promising for my rig :thumb:

I had the 3" BDS kit installed a couple of weeks ago. BDS supplied the exhaust spacer N/C. Ended up getting close to 4" of lift. Looks like I have full flex so for now I going to wait on new DSs. I ordered some upgrades, flex and adjustable LCA and UCA, front track bar, HD steering stabilizer and fox shocks. Drives great on the highway, I haven't been able to wheel it

Nice.. Sounds like you've got no regrets with BDS. That's awesome. :thumb:

Okay.. I called BDS today and was told that the 3" lift for the 2012's is PLUG & PLAY DOES come with the exhaust spacer and everything you need, but if a 4" lift is desired just like the teraflex lift a front drive shaft is required. Also the rep told me that apparently the steering stabilizer 5500 v.s the 9550 by BDS is essentially the same thing even though one is hydrolic and the other is gas operated.
