installed Off-road Only tail lights over the wknd... a few pics

I just installed ORO tail lights over the weekend and wanted to post some pictures incase anyone else is considering these lights... The installation was very simple. The only annoying part was that the lights don't have a license plate light, so I wired in two LED's that I had laying around from my motorcycle. Also, my jeep is a 98 so I had to modify my flasher relay which turned out to be really easy. Stu-offroad has great instructions posted on his web site, or you can also buy an LED compatible flasher which Stu references.

Overall I really like the way they turned out. I think the back of the Jeep looks much simpler and I love the way they look at night.

Can you explain how you wired the light bolts? I have flush mounts that the PO did I need to install these light bolts, which I have, but I haven't installed them yet.

I noticed with your brake lights on the license plate went out.

haha, it looks like the license plate light went off when I hit the brake, but it's because I shut off the head lights before wedging a board on the brake pedal to get the brake lights on. You had me scared for a second there, haha... wiring the light bolts wasn't bad at all. They have two wires (hot and ground), so I spliced the hot wire into my tail light wire and spliced the ground into the ground wire on the tail lights. The only tricky part was figuring out which wire on the light bolts was ground and hot, but that was simply solved by attaching a battery to the bolt lights and seeing which wire made the lights work.... Also, just one more thing to mention about the tail light wiring, there are three wires back there (tail, brake/turn signal, and reverse). I chose to use the tail light wire as my power source for the license plate lights, obviously, so they will turn on every time I turn my head lights on.
