Lift & tires done...

4 Attachment(s)
Finally got my lift, tires / wheels, and bumpers installed. Drove around some this a.m., and had time to take a few quick photos (some from yesterday when it was still @ the garage). All I can say is, wow! Feels a lot tighter in turns, and generally tracks better on the road. Sixth gear's a little feeble (I've got 3.73 gears), so I'll have to address that sometime soon. Otherwise, though, it does fine around town.

Almost got a nosebleed when I first drove...Definitely sits a lot higher. :D

The plan is to get it on some trails tomorrow or Monday, give the suspension a little workout.

Anyway, here's some pics.

mjf232 12-17-2011 01:58 PM

Nice job, like the wheels too. They're #2 on my list. What size are they?

Cowboy59 12-17-2011 02:01 PM

Looks like it is sneaking up on prey in the bush photo!

Thank you. The bumpers are Rampage Recovery bumpers (left the winch plate off on the front till I buy a winch in the spring). No spacers.

The wheels are 16x8 ATX 188 Teflons with 4.5" backspacing.

Great pics, shows off your rig well. You should have posted a pic of your smile while you're walking toward your jeep. Well done!

ETA on your new top?

TJNewbie 12-17-2011 05:21 PM

I think that's one of the best looking JKs I ever seen! nice wheel choice too.

MTH 12-17-2011 05:59 PM

Wow, really looks great. :thumb:

Of course, it doesn't hurt that you're, ya know, a PROFESSIONAL photographer. The rest of us are out there clicking with our iPhones while your snapping shots that look like they should be in a photo spread for NatGeo. :D

But somehow I think your JKU would still look awesome if I was standing right next to it . . . :whistling:

myjeepandmydog 12-17-2011 06:15 PM

Wow! That is a sick Jeep.:punk: I am stoked for you.

ESP 12-17-2011 06:48 PM

Ok so can we get wolf to come on the trail ride tomorrow here in NC and take pics??? Seriously...very nice.

2011_Rubicon 12-17-2011 06:50 PM

Excellent!! What kind/size tires and lift do you have? The jeep looks like it sits perfect, IMO.

I talked to Tim a couple weeks ago, he was taking the frames in to be powdercoated, said he'd be shipping after that...but my guess is after Christmas.

Man, I'd be all over that. This time of year, I miss NC. Used to live in Raleigh (back when Jimmy V won the big one with the Wolfpack), and in Franklin County for awhile.

Thanks for all the nice comments, everybody. You all had a hand in it, or I'd still be trying to decide what size tires to buy. :punk:

Cudda 12-17-2011 07:36 PM

Looks great! Very nice!

What fenders are those, I really like them?

The tires are 315/75R16 DuraTracs. The lift is a 3" Premium Plus lift made by Full Traction Suspension. Because the shocks are 27.5" (Bilstein 5100's), I bought a JE Reel 1310 front driveshaft so the ds and exhaust wouldn't hit when the shocks are fully extended.
