Hard Top Storage
I finally picked up my Wrangler Unlimited on Saturday. I got the dual top option and now I'm looking for a good storage option for the hard top. I'm considering a Hoist-A-Top or something similar to store the top off the garage floor in that un-used space above where the jeep sits and the ceiling of the garage.

Any input on the Hoist-A-Top like solutions or other ideas? I've read that some of you guys have the dual top, how/where do you store your hard top?

i wish i had some pictures of it, but my uncle did something similar. he just took a pulley and attatched it to the ceiling, rigged 2 2x4's to the rope to put under the front and back of the top. then when he wanted to take it off, just lift the front up a little, slide the 2x4 under the front and then the back, then lift it up and tie it off. may not be as cool as a Hoist-A-Top, but cheaper and ingenious.

I have a hoist-a-top and love it. It has turned removing and reinstalling my hardtop into a one-man, 30 minute (from walking into the garage to walking out) job. Would never not have one with a hard top!

My kingdom for a Hoist A Top. I have a pair of saw horses and some spare room in my driveway.

Another Lang Hoist-a-Top owner here. I bought the cheapo version a few years ago that has the come-a-long. With the single/center hoist point, the top can swing around. I use a couple ratchet straps to hold it steady while it's hanging up there most the year. I would consider the electric hoist if I put the hard top on more than once a year. But, I didn't even put the hard top on last winter.

i use 4 rachet straps hanging from the rafters. i was worried about when time came to lower it but do 1 at a time till it's close then just lift it down 1 corner at a time. i take it off/on by my self and takes maybe 30 min. back in, lift off-back in put on. while it's off i just park the garden tractor under it-kinda a garage in a garage.

i use ratchet straps hanging from the ceiling. i can take if off by myself in 5 minutes or less. about ten mins to put it back on by myself. i can take pictures if you like.
