Recovery Contact Thread!

On New Years Day I was out with TUDM and a friend when the friends charging sytem took a crap on us. I was able to rig up my charger pack to get us JUST out of the woods where we could leave it till we got the parts and tools. The trip got me thinking tho, Ive seen this thread on other sites and searched a little here didnt see one. Ill start the NJ one off, who knows maybe we can get a sticky if it does well. List the info needed to contact you if we are stuck in your area and your willing to help(Name, location, contact info, equipment etc).

Vey much under stood. With the being said Id like to tell you that Im a mod on a few motorcycle forums that I dont even feel comfortable giving my info on. To date this forum is the first Ive ever posted my number on that didnt require a purchased group membership(like my trck day org site) and with good luck so far. Shows what a good group we have here I think.

Mudboy 01-04-2012 03:28 PM

Plus you have a working winch that has helped me out a handful of times !!!!

If anyone lives within 20 minutes of each other... you should exchange phone numbers and keep them in the jeep or in your wallet. I have a list of other rescuers here in Mid-MI that can usually get to me within a short amount of time and they have my number as well.

Allthough, here it is required. When your out and its only say 3 degrees F with a 20mph wind and a wind chill of -15, it only takes about 2 minutes to start to get frost bite. I keep a couple wool blankets in the tool kit at all times as well.

I live right in Atco, I don't have much in the way of recovery or repair but I am 5 min from the atco speedway which is basically Wharton so I could provide transportation to a store or home...

aJeep4Jaime 01-13-2012 08:21 AM

Come to think of it, if I can fix my jeep w my tools, they must be worth offering, though nothing is powered...

srad600 09-19-2012 09:04 AM

Nope no calls except to a tow truck which ran him over a bill. I'd have done it for a beer.

Potts 09-20-2012 12:46 PM

I just want to say I think this post is pretty awesome and says a lot about the type of people driving jeeps. Peace! Maybe one day I'll be in a position where I could help someone out...

Out and check out Pine Barrens Jeep. You can become a member there and they will come and get you out of Wharton anytime from what I understand. For like $100 a year or something I think I read.

srad600 09-20-2012 02:17 PM

I dont know if that includes free recovery or not. I my self was stuck out in wharton not that long ago but with a much different situation. I needed the jeep towed home. They wanted over 200 bucks. I ended up limping it out of the woods and getting a tow home that cost me 85 from a regular tow company.

rich jazz 09-20-2012 02:51 PM

Great idea, everyone will need help at one time. Just need to get to the pic. We should make a list of people who will help out, and post it in there.

ScarletKnight 09-20-2012 08:14 PM
