Help TJ feels loose
I have been reading this forum for awhile now and decided to join because I have some questions for you suspension gurus. I have a lifted TJ on 35"s. I recently rotated the tires and had the wheels balanced. The tire shop said they couldn't get one wheel to balance and put it on the rear hoping it would work itself out. Since then I have had major problems. Could that one tire being slightly uneven and that wheel being out of balance cause u joint and control arm bushing problems? My wrangler has gone from my dream vehicle to a nightmare lately and its getting out of hand. Anyone in the North Denver area that would be willing to look at this and give me an opinion please message me.

Seems more likely that you have uneven tire wear that is just suddenly noticeable with the tires rotated.

Pay the extra money and have the tires road force balanced. Did you unnecessarily install a drop pitman arm?

Well right after the rotation it wasn't bad. Then I had a U joint go bad slowly and I thought I could drive it to a friends house to replace when it shattered the transfer case. I replaced the t case and rear drive shaft and thought I was in the clear. I went in for an alignment and the guys said my control arm bushings were bad and that I would start to notice it soon.

Things got worse and I crawled under there to see if I could find any play. One control arm has a small amount of play and my rear sway bar was almost off. I tightened rear sway bar and things felt good again. Only lasted for about 3 days and now I am back to not driving it because it feels loose. I don't want to replace unnecessary things right now and am getting confused. My searches have led me to control arm bushings but I want to be sure.

Did you have an SYE and CV shaft and then replace it with stock stuff?

No I replaced both SYE out of old tcase and a rebuilt CV shaft
