What's not stock?

5 Attachment(s)
Hey guys. I've been somewhat active on this forum the past couple of months when my dad bought a 00 Wrangler (SE?). I've learned a lot so thanks to all of you who have helped me. Now I'm wondering, before I make any BIG mods, what's not stock on this Jeep? I've taken a bunch of pictures, so here we go.. The first things I found that I think aren't stock are JKS (quicker disconnects?). Also, I found that thing in my hand under the hood.. (probably guys at Midas left it in there, but maybe not...). Also, what axles am I running? Thanks!

From what I can tell: the slats in the grille, the receiver hitch on the front bumper, the shift knob, cd player, sound bar speakers and the diamond plate guards around the front turn signals. Everything else appears to be stock.

Okay cool. So is it real quick and easy to use the JKS disconnects? I modified the front bumper, whoops! Probably shoulda mentioned that.. it's for attaching a snow plow. And yup! - it's a 4cyl.. i posted some more (kinda blurry sorry) pics of the axles at the end... how do I confirm this?

Wrangler06 01-08-2012 09:19 PM

give that undercarriage a good pressure washing ;] x2 on the post above me, i replied before all the pics were up lol

Wrangler06 01-08-2012 09:20 PM

4cyl you have a d30 d35 fore sure...never heard of a 4cyl with anything else

Driver831 01-08-2012 09:21 PM

^ to add.. The upper door hinge is for taking the doors off and putting mirrors there. Don't think the matco socket comes standard on the TJ's lol.

Oh wow - never noticed the diamond plate guards being different. And yeah.. I probably shoulda mentioned what I had done.. including the shift knob and hitch on front bumper.

For the speakers... they are not good at all.. is it just the speakers that were changed, or the sound bar itself too?

just looking at the axles, they are for sure a d30/d35..

Yeah I need to... I honestly don't even know if that will get it all out - what do yall think? anything else I need to do to get weeks old concrete mud off haha? I really should invest in a pressure washer though..

Is that a raccoons nest in your skid plate?

Looks like a mostly stock Jeep and a great way to start out a well built rig. Good luck with it and have fun!http://cdn.wranglerforum.com/attachm...8&d=1326075433

Also not mentioned is stock 4cyl axles come with 4.10 gearing...

Yes, yes it is. A nest of dirt and earth mounds. That's why I don't think a pressure washer will work.... It's literally inside the skid plate smooshed into the undercarriage.

Nah it wont help much, a 4cyl needs the 4.10 gears just to move stock size tires  the 4.0 5sp usaully comes stock with 3.07's..

get a lawn sprinkler and stick it under there for awhile, loosens alot of that up.... leaves a mess though!

Look for the style that shoots up and fans back and forth, not the traditional ones that shoot horizonal.

Glad your cleaning the underside. If you were going to ask the weight of a stock TJ, answer would depend on with or with out mud. Nice desriptive photo's. good job. :thumb:
