I can hear the wind outside right now, blowing it sideways. We got about 3" today, and it's supposed to keep going all night and into tomorrow, for a total of 6-8".

Not enough to get the snowmobile trails up and running, but it's a start. :thumb:

Have fun tomorrow.

the Kolector 01-12-2012 06:46 PM

Our district opted for early dismissal of school before it even started snowing. Barely even got a dusting.

JIMBOX 01-12-2012 06:50 PM

:D Just be careful, willee, remember when in snow, road angles/dangles can cause lotta trouble, especially if you're in 4wd-

Up until today, we haven't even had winter. Couple of days in the teens, but just Tuesday it was almost 50...in January! I cleaned my Jeep at the self-wash, for godsakes. With no jacket and my sleeves rolled up. Unbelievable.

Other than that, we've had two piddly little one-inchers...just enough to make you do a Charlie Brown when you go out to get the mail.

All I can hope for is that something Biblical is in store for us in late Jan / Feb. I'm talking an Old Testament, clear-the-roads-of-all-human-life type of snowstorm! :punk:

Of course, I'd be happy with enough to get the trails groomed. :hide:

Man, I was told yesterday, I may need a "pacemaker" for Bardycardia, so I will take it real easy  Thanks

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...IMGP0733-1.jpgYou don't have to tell me about feeling 21, man I been doing that for Nigh onto 47 years-and not just jeeps--

You'll be OK, just be careful manhandling that xfer case lever and backing up !

Since my last post, the storm has passed us by...ended up w/three inches. Ticks me off, though, cuz as of about 7p.m. they were saying it would snow all night and well into tomorrow morning.

Just looked at the weather map...clear.

Three measly inches. Not even worth getting out the shovel.

At this point i would settle for groomed trails in wisconsin :thumb:

...but it would be really nice if we could get snow and they would groom the trail that goes by my driveway :)

yeah i washed my Jeep outside on Sunday 46 flipping degrees :nonono:

Terryhinsb 01-12-2012 11:27 PM

Came out of the office to hit the gym mid morning (shhh!) and it was 75 degrees. Of Course I had to pull the front top off for the three minute drive to the gym! hahahaha

Stupid Winter!!

Drive to Alaska, I hear they have about 18 feet or so. Kentucky would shut down for a month with half that amount.

This was taken outside of one of the hardest hit towns in Alaska's most recent storm.

What we need is the storm from last February, three feet over night was a blast. Of course I was not a proud jeep owner at that time.

Here's a pic from last weeks trip to the mtns of WVa. There were some 24" drifts that were a blast to bounce through but mostly just 3-5 inches and lots of ice where people had already driven. The trick was to cut your own tracks through it.
I aired down to 22ish and had no problems with the mud tires.

Well, what can I say, a dusting in the higher-elevations, OH well, could be worse ;)

Be careful what you wish for, they say :D

KarlG 01-13-2012 02:22 PM

We've gotten 8 inches so far and I've already been outplaying in it :thumb:

GoBlueGigEm 01-13-2012 03:06 PM

Last winter in the TJ, before we traded it in for the JKU this past summer (I know this is the JK forum, right), we figured out where the Weather Channel was broadcasting from and went and played in it and got on TV.

Awesome awesome time, and I can definitely vouch for the Duratracs in over two feet of snow.

Can't wait to test out my new STTs this winter.

Great Pic, would love to see the short vid clip of the Jeep going by in the background. SHould be in a commercial :thumb:

Had a great time here today even though it wasn't a blizzard.

Beautiful. We finally got a little snow...about 4 inches, but I'll take it. Picked up some moisture crossing the Great Lakes, I see. :thumb:

You called it! Where I live, an average year yields 9 -10 ft per season. Our area has gotten 10 ft in one week a few years ago. Most of it is lake effect. Very light year here so far, only about 12 inches in Dec., which set a new record for least amount of snow.

You know I didn't even catch that. Good eye. I was sent that picture this week. It sounded plausible with the snow we got down south. Damn internets strikes again. Still a cool looking pic.
