My wait is over :)

Ok, my wait is officially over. Drove off the lot about 7pm tonight in my new Jeep. Sorry for the poor pic, but it was dark and my cell phone doesn't do well in dark. I'll put a few better pics up in a day or so when I get it washed but this will satisfy the "pics or it didn't happen" :). Oh and no the wiper is not broken or anything, I cleaned the windshield and forgot to put that one back down before taking pics.

Ok here's a new pic of it in the work parking lot. Much better shot (still dirty but you can actually see it lol). I'm planning on washing it and doing a leak check tonight when I get home.

I looked at the roof after stepping up on the rails and it looks like the passenger side panel is slightly crooked, but I don't know that might be normal? There are no signs inside that it leaked during transit last week, but I don't even know what the weather was like between Ohio and CA last week so maybe there wasn't any rain or anything to cause a problem in the first place. If I run into a problem I'll try reseating the panels myself first before submitting to the "leak specialist" or whatever they are at the dealer. I've seen enough posts around here to know to try it myself first lol and I appreciate that info.

I've taken my roof panels off a couple of times, and when you're putting them back on, you can pinch the gasket. The gasket lines should be even and gapped perfectly all the way around. If it's pinched, you'll see some part of the gasket either higher than the rest, or lower. No biggie -- all you have to do is flip the handles, unscrew the locking knobs (driver's side first), and unhook the windshield clips. Then lift, re-settle and refasten. Takes about 5 min. to do the whole thing.

Love that new green/black color.

Bet it smells awsome too!

Well, I gave the Jeep its first bath tonight, starting with a leak check first with me inside and the gf using the hose to run water over the freedom panels and down the edge of the doors. No leaks. I swear that passenger panel is slightly crooked though so I'll take a pic tomorrow in the sun to show you guys and get some opinions. Oh and of course the ultimate leak test came right after as I washed it. Again no water coming in that I could tell. Guess I'll know for sure in the next few days as the rain is hitting Thursday through the end of the forecast (Monday for now).

LOL it did, but I told them not to wash it (it's a detailing thing) and they didn't. I just took that pic from the right lighting angle to hide the dirt :D (they are filthy when they come off the shipping process) Oh and I plan to have fun. Already up to 79 miles from the 10 it had when I got there. Of course part of that was a 40 miles round trip to the dealer today to force them to use my bank since the APR's were the same (they were trying to overcharge for GAP by 170%....795 vs. 295). I had to re-sign a couple papers to kill their GAP coverage and give them the info for my bank's loan.

Well, less than a week after taking delivery, a friend and I "christened" it with its first off road trip today (I also christened the interior with Starbucks but that's a different story ). We just took a few mile drive up to some snow on some fire roads. I learned two things. Turn off the traction control, and I need to see about disabling HSA in the EVIC next time. It caused me to stall 4 times trying to turn around on a hill in the snow because traction sucked and HSA kept trying to stop the wheels. It did a pretty good job too because it kept stalling, oops . Here's a couple pics. Doesn't look like it but it did get decently dirty hehe.

Congrats on your new jeep!

I just ordered my BFG JKU and seeing your pictures solidifies that I made the right color choice.
