What weekend in June? I'm living in Irvine as of now. I love that area and have been up there many times but not with a bunch of jeepers. Where do I sign up?

Sign up through "IE4W" website under big bear forest fest. Then it will direct you from there.

Thanks! Hope to see everyone up there. FYI I ran up to the top of Saddleback Mountain a few weeks ago. Great view and a pretty easy trail. Just a shelf road. Trail head is at the end of Silverado Canyon. It can turn into a good day trip if you want to explore other trails that are around too.

Totally open, camp where you want, just can't be on the ski area. The raffle is up to about $28,000 now. Win cool stuff from winches to hats. It's fun. And the dinner is fantastic!

I might do a Sunday run, it depends on my wife's fathers day plans. No run Friday night for me, that's social time and we usually BBQ some dead cow.

This event fills up pretty fast, fortunately for us, Mike Moore is in charge of entry's and trail scheduling, so he is pretty accommodating when it comes to trail assignments. Sign up for another good trail thats open, maybe one you haven't been on, and sometimes guys will trade you trails. We can work it out. The Saturday evening BBQ and raffle is a great time, no matter which trail you do. There's always good vendors there too.

MNTNGOAT 04-08-2012 11:27 PM

So much for my plans.

I am going to attend Saturday and Sunday and will hit another trail since this one is full, they are all good. I am surprised that they dont add a 3rd run though. Its the only full trail at this time. With start times of 8 and 830am, they would have time for another start...Also buying another 20 or so raffle tickets...:D

JPi1 04-09-2012 12:07 AM

I know what you mean, but the US forest service limits the amount of vehicles at this event, I think it's 275 now.

bigV 04-11-2012 02:52 PM

I'll be there, running White Mountain on saturday
