I kinda wanna go wheelin for my birthday

Good day Jeepers, I'm John, I'm 25 & live up in anthem. My birthday is the 29th of this month, and I'm thinking I wanna go wheelin. Here inlays the problem though, before I got the jeep(got the jeep about a month) I had a sport bike, and well they are nothing a like haha. I'm not looking to do anything to crazy I'm not even really sure what my pretty much stock 4cyl can do. It does have some 265/70's on it but thats it:D So anyone wanna go wheelin? or share some insight as to a good spot, well a good spot for how am equipped. Thanks in advance

I'd go with ya, but I gotta work that day.

A good place to start for newbies is the back side of Saguaro Lake. Look for the Butcher Jones Recreational Area. There is an open gate in the back of the parking lot that leads to lots of nice trails. You can make it as easy or difficult as you want.

Enjoy, and Happy Birthday!:thumb:

Take a nice B'day trip - head up to Table Mesa exit on I-17 and head east. It comes out on the Seven Spring road north of Carefree. Makes for a good loop! If you go west, it can be very confusing on routes, but that area is home to the hard core trail like Upper and Lower Terminator, Judgement Day, Predator, Annihilator, the Matrix, and several more. None of them are advisable in a stock rig...

You can also get to the old ghost town of Tip Top on the west side of Table Mesa. That's doable in a stock rig.

Further north is Bumble exit - that would be my choice since it goes to Crown King. Can't think of a better place for a B'day. Have a beer and a burger at the CK saloon.

Nuther option is Bloody Basin Rd - either east or west will be fun. If you go east, that also connects into Seven Springs Rd. Heading west takes to the road to Mayer or Crown King.

I live up in anthem so table mesa is just a few miles down the road. go east you say alright maybe i'll give that a shot, then again a ghost town could be fun. I read somewhere that Crown King run was like a 6 hour run, I have a newborn at home so I'm not sure the wife would like me gone all that long  Have any idea on what a typical run time is on the seven springs and or tip top. Thanks again gents

Seven Springs via Table Mesa or Bloody Basin is a full day. Tip Top is a long day as well.

It's 90 minutes to CK on the main road - easy trip on a sometimes graded dirt road. Part of it is on the old railroad grade. That will get you familiar with the area, and from CK to Prescott (spring time thru fall) is another 4 hours.

Hey, my birthday is on the 30th and I just moved here from Northern VA a few days ago. Don't know too many people yet so i was thinking about taking my first offroading trip (instead of drinking all my money away like the last few years). I'm in northern Scottsdale and don't want to do 6hrs my first time. If you decide on something relatively short/beginner let me know, my roomate and I would be down.

Oh and I have an 08 JKU Sahara with a stubby bumper and my roomate has a new grand cherokee
