just peeking in to say hello
I'm so thrilled to be here and say i love our new 2009 (to us, new) wrangler X!

In the past I've had 3 other jeeps. A '49, post war willys, a '66 cj5, a '77 cj5 .

Just have one question to ask that makes me feel so dumb! I am sure it's just cuz of the new fangled computer jazz nowadays.

OUr new jeep came w/ just one key, and so we went to walmart to get some spares, and guess what? they wouldn't start the jeep!

what's a gal to do?

anxious for the solution.

thanks loads.

Welcome! You have to go to the dealer for a spare, because of the chip inside the key.

If I remember right when I priced a spare for my 03 back when I first got it, I was told right at $100, $45 or $50 for the key and around the same price to program it. It might be cheaper now, I never checked again.

Welcome to the Forum

I think the spare for mine was around $130.00 programmed.
