i have only experienced this once since i bought the jeep. my wife just called me and told me she just had it happen to her on the way home tonight. both times it has been on the highway going between 55 and 65. nothing around town or such. from what i have read and seen on youtube, it surely felt like death wobble and scarred the hell out of me. thought the wheel was about to fly off. from what i have seen before though it seems to me that it does it very often for others almost like clock work when you hit the right speed. but for me withing the passed month it has only happened twice. does this sound like death wobble? i have noticed the alignment is off a little. im hoping that is the problem. if not guess ill be digging into the tj before i put the baby back in it.

If it's doing it at a specific speed, it's possibly the alignment and or off balance tire. Also check the track bar at the frame and axle for being tight.

I'll be putting on jack stands tomorrow after work it looks like. Gonna check the whole front end. Hopefully it's just and alignment issue and balance tires. Talked with my father in law last night and apparently the ball joints need replaced he said, just never had the time to get around to it. So I'll add that to the list also.

Check the usual stuff... ball joints, tie rod ends, alignment, tires/balance. However, I find the thing most often overlooked are the front swaybar links... rarely checked usually look OK until they pull out completely. Solved the "death wobble" in my Jeep.

Well I talked to her dad. He said the ball joints need replaced. I check everything with the jeep on the ground. Nothin seemed out of the ordinary. Track bar looked good and tight. Gonna put it on the stands Friday and recheck it all. Happened a couple times again this week. Same speed between 55and65. Father in law thinks possible tie rods. Guy I work with said he would almost guarantee a warped rotor from what I described happening and the speed t happens at. Said he had mutliple cars in the passed do the samething at the same speeds and it was always warped rotors? One thing that has me puzzled is ts only 55to65 and it's not every time you're too that speed it's just random. So I guess I have a lot of investigating to do now ha. Fun weekend ahead

Can having one of my sway bars disconnected cause death wobble?

You've gotten some great info here. I've had this happen twice over the years and it was the track bar on both occasions. And, it happened at the same speeds on mine as well. Just saying...
