last time I went mudding, my winch drained my battery and I had to jumpstart it. If I plan on going again and am the only vehicle, can I just bring along a spare battery and jumpstart it from there, or will i have to switch the batteries entirely?
If you're running a regular stock battery i'd strongly suggest going with an optima yellow top which is set up for more of the deep cycle/starting which should hold up just fine with winching and not draining
I'd stay away from the yellow tops, they have a very bad reputation and nearly a 70% failure rate within one year.. Sure they are still under warranty, but will optima helicopter a new battery out to you when out in the middle of nowhere? The sears die hard " platinum " is the same battery as the " Odyssey " battery, which is military spec, and is now used in the heating and A/C units in 18 wheelers... I'm running 8 of them in my truck, one in my jeep, and one in our liberty CRD.. do a bit of research, and you too will be sold on these great batteries...
yeah I am just still on the stock battery... and I plan on switching to a yellow top.
I was just wondering for this weekend, before ill have it, just incase something happens again.
