Just rebuilt my 2 barrel Carter on my 89 wrangler 6 cyl. that was stalling out at low idle. Now it idles great but stalls when I accelerate. Any advise? Thanks!
First, check your accelerator pump by warming up the engine and then shut it off. Remove the air cleaner assembly and look down the throat and operate the throttle linkage. If the pump is working right then you'll see a blast of fuel (should be two jets) shoot into the throat.
If the engine bogs on initial acceleration it could then just be the idle adjustment. If it is happening when you're already moving and accelerate then it might be a defective advance mechanism or the new spring may be the wrong size.
Just some thoughts...
