BCS mania
holy cow....with the wrench pitt threw into the bcs tonight, who do yall think should play for the title? and why. serious suggestions only and back up your picks with logic and evidence

Ohio State will now be number one and will also be set up to get beat in the national Championship by 30 points as they played nobody and are not that good.
Number two will be interesting as Missouri also lost
Georgia while desirving did not even get to play in the comferance Champ game so they should be out (3rd place in conference)
Kansas same as Georgia (plus the only good team the played was Missouri and they lost)
This leaves
VA Tech (they played nobody all year)
USC (Hot now but they screwed up during the year)
OLK (good team)
As long as Kansas, or VA Tech do not get in the game Ohio will get thier butts kicked again by 30 plus points again.

ASU won tonight so they MIGHT be going to the Fiesta Bowl, but I doubt it because its home territory and the biggest thing about the FiestaBowl is tourist money.

I forgot LSU which won today will also weigh in on this. I am interested to see how this ends up.
Bottom line Ohio is in and as long as they add a good team to play them it will be a bad game:)

Crap I'm getting old!

Oh, just go ahead and put Hawaii in there. They are the only undefeated team, and they need a loss.

Seriously though, I think it will end up being LSU / OSU and I think LSU will crush the Blackeyes.

I can't believe WVU got beat last night. I had to drink to drown my sorrows. I'll probably have to do it again tonight just to be sure that I got them all.:D

The case for canceling college football's national title game.

Last Friday, my beloved LSU Tigers lost to Arkansas in triple overtime, blowing their shot at a national championship. At least, that's what I assumed. By the following afternoon, college-football pundits were saying that somehow the Tigers still had a chance: If likely title-game participants Missouri and West Virginia both lose this weekend (admittedly an unlikely scenario), LSU could squeak into the title game against Ohio State.

Even a Louisianan homer like me can recognize that LSU, now a two-time loser, doesn't deserve to play for any kind of championship. Then again, neither does Ohio State—the Buckeyes have no wins against top-tier competition and lost to a mediocre Illinois team at home. West Virginia doesn't have a great case, either—the Mountaineers blew it against middling South Florida and, like Ohio State, lack an impressive win. Missouri, which has the strongest résumé of any contender, still gave up 41 points in a loss to Oklahoma. A month before the BCS title game, we already know college football's national champion: nobody.

Since every team has proven itself undeserving of this year's title, there's only one truly fitting way to end the season, by calling off the BCS title game. Vacate the title as they do in boxing, give everyone a trophy as they do in youth soccer—but don't make anyone national champion.

i dont agree with that article but no1 has truely proven themselves underserving, just proved that theres alot more good teams out there this year than normally. i know the game is already picked but i knew OSU would be there, unfortunately and honestly even though it may be a little biased, i think UGA should be there with them..... ohio didnt play for i think it was 3, but at least 2 weeks straight. and didnt not get punished by getting jumped over. UGA doesnt play for 1 week, and gets jumped by 3 teams and moves back a spot in the BCS poll, even though 2 teams in front of them lost. thats my weaker arguement. my stronger arguement is for Oklahoma-lsu. if # 7LSU can beat # 19 UT (like they're supposed to do since they're ranked 12 spots higher) and jump to number 2, then #9 oklahoma should jump up tothe title game after beating a team ranked 8 spots better than them. if you're going tpo paly leap frog might as well play fair. another point for LSU-OK, ohio st. only played 2 teams in the top 25 all season. they should be undefeated with the kind of slack schedule. looks like the title game might need to be renamed the lets see how many SEC teams can beat the buckeyes bowl.

sugar bowl - since we got shafted on the title game, i'll take the sugar bowl, i dont think it will be a good match against hawaii, espicially if we keep playin like we have been. sure, they're undefeated and have colt brennan(whoop a dee do, i could post numbers like his against the temas they play), but they haven't played a real team all SEC, and definately not one with an SEC caliber defense.

orange bowl - i can see VT getitn the bid because they won the ACC, even though that conference hasnt been good in years. its still an achievement that was rewarded fairly. as for their opponent. kansas??? mizzo beat kansas just the week before, mizzo should definately be here, this is an outright slap in the face to missouri from the BCS.

fiesta bowl - west virginia should not be here, if mizzo doesnt get the orange bowl, they should at least get the fiesta bowl. after all, the lost to #9 from the #1 spot whereas WV lost to an unranked pitt from the #2 spot. i still think oklahoma had a legitimate shot at the championship had the cards fallen failr, but they didnt. so i'm glad they are at least in a BCS bowl where they will most likely annialate their oppononent. oh yea, west virginia lost to south florida

rose bowl - first off to the rose bowl commitee, get over yourself we're tired of seeing pac10 - big10 suckfest. put some good teams in there. sure USC is hyped up to be good but that means nothing, ask stanford. And illinois, seriously? USC will slaughter illinois in a no contest game, but neither team should be here. i'm tired of hearing about how USC is the hottest team in the nation right now, ummmm, no they're not. troy state could play their schedule and look good. this game is justy retarded

i'm tired of hearing the media hype up ap state and USF like they're a force to be reckoned with just bc mich and WV lost to them. they just suck but dont tell the media that.

its obvious that strength of schedule doesn't play into the BCS system nearly enough, or ohio state would not be there. i've got tons more but am gettin kind of pissed up here on my soap box, rant off for now
