wego4x4 01-31-2012 07:13 PM

I wanted to plan something that weekend also. I'm in. I was thinking of doing Johnson Valley but we can do Big Bear.

MNTNGOAT 01-31-2012 08:24 PM

Ill go to (assumin i dont get scheld to work) first trail that pops to mind is gold mountain in BB. But thats the easiest trail ive run up there and its short so if we run early maybe we can get 2 in if ur feelin up to in

98tj.steven 01-31-2012 08:45 PM

Maybe.

BillG.OTD 01-31-2012 09:22 PM

I'm in...plenty of trails up there of all kinds...

suicideking 02-01-2012 12:03 AM

Yeah, maybe gold mountain and try to squeeze another in.

What do you suggest Bill? You seem to be the BB expert.

I certainly wouldn't say expert...I still get lost, just ask Coop  I thought this was your run? Let me think on this and see who is coming...you called for a medium difficulty trail and that should will not be a problem. BB is the best and if the weather stays nice, we will have our pick of them all! :thumb:

Thephaty 02-01-2012 01:00 AM

I would like to go as I said before I don't have lockers so I hope I can get through?

wego4x4 02-01-2012 01:19 AM

Dishpan springs is pretty easy if everyone is set on BB. We can do that an maybe john bull after.

You'll be fine. I have a sport, so no lockers for me either.

As Coop mentioned, no John Bull this time. Trying to keep it easy to moderate.

I did say maybe and I didn't know it was his first run. Either way that would be a good learning experience. Guess dishpan is out also.

schoonover 02-02-2012 12:34 AM

Not really first run, will be the 3rd (Cleghorn twice) though the second time didn't do much because I wanted to wait until I at least had some side rails installed.

Running total so far:

Ok updated.

What's Johnson Valley like? Have you done it before?

JV is a blast. Done it many times stock and with the lift and usually hardly anyone there. In BB I have run into other groups and it's caused the trip to drag sometimes. JV is a huge area and you can do pretty much anything you want. The trails aren't as defined so you can get a little lost. Pretty much something for all skill levels. I'll post up some pics after.

king johnson valley is where they run king of hammers.

We have land out there

suicideking 02-02-2012 03:53 PM

I'll definitely add Johnson Valley to the 'to-do' list.

It seems that there's an overwhelming amount of different areas around that are good for wheeling.

suicideking I gave you permission so you can now edit the first post.

BillG.OTD 02-02-2012 05:00 PM

I have been down there several times, but it was before I owned my jeep. We rode bikes, rhinos & quads. There is obviously hardcore wheelin for KOH and Jerry has made several references to it. I dont know how many moderate to Blk Diamond type trails they have. They also have a trail from there to Big Bear that is on my list.

schoonover 02-02-2012 05:10 PM

Im up there now if any one want to play
