How many are running 35s on MB wheels now?

4fit 02-03-2012 10:06 PM

Quite a few. I only went through about 10-12 pages of that thread, which is 47 pages long now.

ESP 02-03-2012 10:09 PM

I can't stop looking at how clean that first pic I put up is of the bfgs on them and the yellow JK. I hate that they didn't offer bright banana monkey yellow for 2010 :banghead:.

I would have been all over that. We'll that rescue green looked fine too.

4fit 02-03-2012 10:25 PM

This should give you a good idea what your's would look like. This has a 2" FT BB.

Planning on 15's or 16's?

ESP 03-05-2012 05:08 PM

I can't stand it lol. I think I'm going through what a lot of others have when looking at some of those old pics of the combo when I first put it on. Those 35s in the KM2s look crazy good but I'm sure I'd get a smack in the face with around 13-14mpg vs the 19.4 I got on the interstate today driving back from Winston Salem to Raleigh NC.

^ Just saw your profile and read that you've got a manual. Did you re-gear for those?

jplks2play 03-05-2012 05:18 PM

It's the stock 6 speed manual and 3.73 gears. Haven't noticed a loss in power except freeway speeds. Went mudding this weekend and I got through stuff guys with 4.10s didn't. No issues at all except gas mileage. I'm going to regear to a 4.88 to fix that issue.

I'm scared to ask what that is.
Ok I'll go ahead....what is it?

Well, I guess it will depend on- If I get the Duratrac or KM2.

Or whatever is not on backorder when I open up my wallet :D

jplks2play 03-05-2012 05:27 PM

It's ok. It's the gear size that everyone talks about when re gearing. Stock is either 3.21 or 3.73. Or if you have a rubicon could be 4.10

Mtrs on 15x10 black rock alloys. 6 speed with 4.10s I Avg 17.5 mpg. I do about 50-50 city and highway.

If you have a tow link on the back of your jeep you're gonna have 3.73 but if you don't you more than likely have 3.21s with your manual.

jplks2play 03-05-2012 06:11 PM

I had the dealer print my specs with my vin and I have 3.73.

I'm still learning.
The 15" wheels look great. I still have me stock 17's on my Rubi. What are the benefits/negatives of going to 15" wheels?

Cheaper wheels, cheaper tires, more sidewall for airing down. Those are the biggies.

jplks2play 03-05-2012 06:43 PM

On this everyone has there own opinion. For me I went with 15 because wheels and tires are less expensive. Some will say that with 15s you get more of a bounce in your ride or a roll feeling when you turn. I have yet to feel any of those. It is a matter of preference. Just make sure that your back spacing is correct so you don't have to use spacers or rub your tires. My back spacing is 3.34. It makes my wheels stick out about 2 inches past the fender. You need to check your state laws about wheels and fender coverage. I know some states require wheels be under the fenders completely. And some don't.
