Novak cable shifter = amazing

To the other guys who had that clunk in the floor board after installing their body lift, I highly recommend this cable linkage setup. Clunk is gone and 4hi, lo, and 2hi all shift into gear like butter! Although it is pricey , it was the best money I've spent on my tj thus far. Very pleased.

easy to install?

JeepinDave 02-10-2012 12:28 PM

Not bad at all. Definitely remove the skid when installing. It'll make life much easier.

Glad you like it! I am waiting to get mine until I do everything else including the TT, so I dont have to worry about setting up and tearing stuff apart twice. I have mine rigged up to work for now

Installed my NOVAK Cable Shifter in Dec 2011... Best $$$'s ever spent. Recommend this cable shifter to all TJ owners....

Coasttrash 03-13-2012 12:38 PM

Mine is sitting in my room installing tomorrow!

BeerMan 03-13-2012 02:43 PM

How much is the best price and where to get it? I need one like...yesterday.

Imped 03-13-2012 02:50 PM

Exactly why I recommend it to all, regardless of setup. Such a good product.

About $180 and you can get them at Savvy, Novak site, or Rokmen.

SteelBlue44 03-13-2012 03:39 PM

Got mine from Savvy for $180, and so far possibly the best $180 i have spent on my Jeep!

JeepinDave 03-13-2012 06:35 PM

yup.. by far the most practical thing I've added to my jeep

Drock1979 03-13-2012 07:02 PM

Oh no, a new upgrade!? What is the need/benefit of the Novak? I'm still working on lift n such...

Coasttrash 03-13-2012 07:16 PM

after you lift it you will understand the need. haha

That's what I figure!

That's a great shifter, my TJ will get one of those one of these days. My previous TJ got the older version Novak shifter which did not use a cable and it wasn't worth the effort it took to get it shifting right. Novak came up with a winner with their latest cable version.

That has nothing to do with it. It has everything to do with the orientation between the drivetrain and tub. Regardless of that, the stock linkage is an overcomplex maze and even sucks when you're bone stock....you just don't realize it until you shift with the Novak. In comparison, the Novak is a linear design--no bends, linkages, or connections to screw up. Smooth and adjustable describes it well.

No time like the present. :D

I to had an old style of the Novak shifter, you will be highly impressed with the improvement even over it with the newer design Jerry.

Simple and works great.

I got mine from Savvy, with the discount code JF10 they were the cheapest I think it was $170 shipped.
