4 Banger Problems
Hello All. I finally bought a jeep wrangler and I couldn't be more happier about it..Big difference from going from a cherokee into A wrangler. Anways the jeep I bought was totally different from what I wanted from the get go but my buddy gave me A deal that was just to sweet to pass up. Its A 97 tj 2.5 auto with 148xxx miles. The jeep isn't perfect and had its fair share of problems "needed brakes, new top blah blah blah. But heres my problem..I understand the 2.5 isnt gonna be no v8 as far as power but somethings keeping it from its full potenital. Sometimes it runs great and other times it seems like somethings holding it back and the gas mileage is horrible. I've changed all the plugs, wires, cap and button, cleaned the throttle body, and changed the oil "which the oil wasn't milky so doubt its head gaskets". The fuel pump is pumping the correct ammount of psi. The only other ideas is maybe a bad cat or some sorta sensor? Any input into my problem would be greatly appricated! Thanks!
