Remote Starter
I did a search and found a bunch of info for the new Wrangler's but nothing for my 02. I am looking to get a remote start (winter is really kicking in in the mid west and I hate jumping in and driving right a way, not good on the engine/fuel) Not to mention its F'ing cold with the soft top...

Any recommendations on what brand to get?

PS. It is a standard transmission.

Might wanna check local laws as well because a remote start would have to bypass the neutral switch... and in some states its illegal to have a remote start in a vehicle with a manual transmission.

X2 on what AZ said. however what they don't know won't really hurt anyone unless you leave your rig in 1st and run it into a wall or something.

yea when i asked the local car audio shop they said they dont do it to manuals for that very reason

of course there is always the do it yourself kit....

Agreed. It really shouldn't be hard to do it yourself (install clutch interlock bypass and then a normal kit), but if it is left in gear, you'll just be asking for trouble.

Some kits have a parking brake sensor that makes it where you have to have the parking brake set before it will start, that would keep it from running into something, although it would be hard as hell on the starter!!

In some Tjs you can add a fuse into the # 20 slot and it eliminates the clutch interlock switch. You will be able to start yourt car without pusing the clutch. Dont leave it in gear or it will drive away!!!!!

Thanks for the info!

It is very simple to wire up with a Viper alarm. Not sure about other brands We didn't do it for customers, but we did it for our own vehicles.
