That's awesome. I've heard that the armored glass is so thick that I can warp the image. Is this true?
Yeah the glass was all about 2" thick and it took some getting used to. It didn't warp the image as bad as you might think. It's flat glass, so the distortion is minimal. That was a sweet ride. Had bullet deflectors in front of the grille and was just BRISTLING with firepower within. :punk:
Oh yeah, and the best thing about it? Air conditioning. A very rare commodity in Afghanistan. :thumb:

after serving in IRAQ, my old platoon Sgt. and i discussed and think they should make a armored vehicle entirely out of the uparmor glass.

When I was in Afghanistan with the Canadian Forces (2008), I was getting the Canadian trucks ready to send home when they were done there time there... that glass is pretty thick and was crazy to see it spider webbed with bullet wholes (most did not make it through the full thickness but the odd one did).

theres a dealership in london near the hilton hotel located on park lane that sells fully armored bmw's. if i can find the picture i took ill post it, but the specs said it was bullet proof i think up to 7.56 rounds and has some sort of blast/explosion resistance. i cant remember the psi rating of blasts it could with stand but it was pretty cool. judging by the people staying at that hilton hotel i believe that dealership is trying to target all the rich saudis that were frequent that area.
